At the commemoration of "30 years of the first ship of Hon Gai Anthracite coal for iron and steel production in Japan”, a working meeting between the leaders of Vietnam National coal and mineral industries Group (Vinacomin) and Japan iron and steel companies.

During the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue to the Republic of South Africa in early November, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An asked South Africa to clarify the regulations related to allowing the foreign investors, including Vietnamese enterprises to buy coal mines in this country.

The Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) informed: Mao Khe project with a pit level of -150m will generate coal in 2021. This is a pit coal mine with a continuous exploiting process of 65 years (from 1954) and a total coal production of nearly 60 million tons.

Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) has just held a meeting to review and promote exploratory and surveying activities of Vinacomin in the period of 2019-2020 and 5-year plan of 2021-2025.

According to information from Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), in 2019 the coal demand for the thermal power plants reaches the highest level ever. From the beginning of the year so far, Vinacomin provides customers with an average of over 100,000 tons per day including holidays and Tet days.

Pursuant to Document No. 1437 / UBQLV-TCCB, dated September 25, 2019 of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises (UBQLV) on agreement to re-appoint the General Director of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the Group Member Council issued Decision No. 1728/QD-TKV to re-appoint Mr. Dang Thanh Hai to the position of General Director of Vinacomin.

Mr. Dang Thanh Hai, the General Director of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) had a working meeting on checking, surveying port system in Cua Ong area, working meeting with member units under Vinacomin as Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, Materials - Joint Stock Company, and Company for Logistics and Cam Pha Port.

At the online over handing conference on production operation in September 2019, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai, the General Director of Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) asked the member units to pay interest to coal import to meet the demand of customers, especially power generation with a goal to strive achieving 7 million tons of import coal in 2019.

The Government Office has just announced the conclusions of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung at the meeting on the production and business situation of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin). In announcement there is a notice that in recent time, Vinacomin tried the best to perform tasks in the investigation, evaluation, exploration, exploitation and processing of coal to meet the majority of coal demand in the country, especially coal supply for power generation to contribute to requirements on national energy security, life stabilization of the labors and revenue payment to state budget.

According to information from Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin): on August 1, 2019, in Hanoi, took place a working meeting between leaderships of Vinacomin and Xcoal (USA) to specifically discuss about the prospects of coal import directly from the US to Vietnam and promoting cooperation between Vinacomin and US businesses.

On July 30, 2019, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment held a workshop to approve the project on mineral exploration at Ha Lam coal mine, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, established by the Mine geological Joint Stock Company under Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industries Group (Vinacomin).

In order to ensure the highest coal supply for thermal power plants (TPPs) with a maximal generation at the current hot season, the leadership of Vinacomin has directed the subsidiaries to effort coal supply for TPPs at highest level.

The Prime Minister has just signed the Decision No 818/QĐ-TTg dated July 02, 2019 on reappointing Mr. Le Minh Chuan as the Chairman of the Member’s Council of Vietnam Coal -Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) since June 27, 2019.

The Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) informed that, in the first 6 months of 2019, the group completed 54% of the year plan with a success as all the business subsidiaries of the group were profitable and the stable jobs for employees were guaranteed with a monthly income of over 6-7% in comparison with that in 2018.

On June 13, in Binh Thuan province, there took place a ceremony to announce the license for surveying ThangLong wind power project in offshore area of Ke Ga Cape and to introduce the official Website of the project.
