On September 9, 2021, within the framework of the official working visit to Belgium, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, T&T Group and Orsted - the world's leading sustainable energy Group officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation in the offshore wind power in Vietnam.

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) informed that as of the beginning of August 2021, there 106 wind power projects with a total capacity of 5,655.5 MW sent the documents for asking the EVN to recognize them in Commercial Operation Date (COD).

As a result of the ongoing global climate crisis, extreme weather events have increased again this year. Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC1) informed that at 10:00 am on August 15, 2021, the 220 kV transformer substation of the BIM wind power project was successfully powered. This is a project invested by BIM Group and designed by PECC1.

Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company has successfully powered the 500kV transformer substation with two transformers by 225 MVA each (2x225 MVA) and 1.2 km of transmission line for connecting the Ea Nam Wind Power Project –largest wind power plant in Vietnam at present time to the 500 kV Di Linh - Pleiku transmission line.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a strong influence on the economy and society and greatly affected the project progress of renewable energy investors in Vietnam, including Super Energy. Therefore, the extension of the time to apply the FIT rates for wind power projects (until the end of June 2022) is to increase the "resistance" for businesses to firmly overcome the epidemic and complete their projects as soon as possible.

On July 23rd, at Huong Hoa, Quang Tri province, Vietranstimex conducted a trial run of the Blade Adapter to obtain a permit for wind turbine blade transport. Previously, these blade adapters were tested successfully at Hon La yard, Quang Binh province.

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has just informed that, in recent time, EVN signed the power purchase agreements (PPAs) with commercial operation date (COD) as October 31, 2021 for 144 wind power projects with a total capacity of 8,144.88 MW.

Ningbo, China-Ginlong Technologies Co.,Ltd. (Solis) (Stock Code: 300763.SZ), a global leader in photovoltaicstring inverter manufacturing has worked alongside UK renewable energy company Engenera to install a rooftop solar power system for plastics manufacturer, Faerch Plast. At 2MW, utilizing Solis 110kW inverters and with over 4000 modules this is a substantial large scale rooftop installation.

On July 15, 2021, in Hanoi, La Gan Wind Power Project Development Joint Stock Company - the developer of the 3.5 GW La Gan offshore wind power project (under the Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Asiapetro and Novasia) has signed a contract with the Vietnam - Russia joint venture (Vietsovpetro) of geotechnical survey for La Gan offshore wind power project. The signing ceremony was conducted online under the witness of the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam - Kim H. Christensen.

PID effect, micro-cracks, and hot spots are three important factors that can affect the performance of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules. Among them, PID effect and hot spots usually appear after installation and operation of PV panels for a period of time. Micro-cracks are a common problem associated with solar photovoltaic modules and they are difficult to detect with the eyes. In view of these potentially hidden problems, how we identify and rectify them is important. In the last Solis Seminar, we introduced the problem of PID effect and its solutions.
