On March 2, 2022, in Hanoi, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong, the Chairman of the Member Council of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Mr. Mark Green - Chairman of the Asia-Europe region of AES Corporation (USA) discussed cooperation in developing offshore wind power and hydrogen projects in Vietnam.

JA Solar announced today that its industry-leading DeepBlue 3.0 PV module was chosen for a large rooftop solar project in Vietnam. JA Solar is supplying 2882 modules, equal to capacity of 1570.69kW, that will power the local operations of Yuzhan Group, a renowned package manufacturer that has supplied products to major companies such as Goretek, Foxconn, and Samsung. Upon the completion of the project, the yearly estimated electrical output of 1700MWh will help Yuzhan substantially reduce its cost of power, while also reducing its CO2 emissions by approximately 1438 tons annually.

On January 16, 2022, Trungnam Tra Vinh 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company, a member of Trung Nam Group held a ceremony for inaugurating Dong Hai 1 Wind Power Project in Tra Vinh province. This project is the first step for the "sea voyage" demonstrating the construction capacity of Trungnam Group, in successful implementing the first offshore wind power project, overcoming the trial of the time and natural unfavorable factors in the Southwest region, opening the way for offshore wind power projects of Trung Nam Group in coming time.

On January 4, in Kon Tum, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) held a ceremony to hand over Se San 4 Solar Power Project (SPP) to SeSan Hydropower Development Company (HPDC) for management and operation.

Finalizing and analizing the results of "Scientific conference on application of energy storage systems and technologies to improve efficiency for renewable energy projects in Vietnam" held at the end of November 2021 in Hanoi, the Scientific Council of The Vietnam Energy Magazine has just published a report on a need and role of electricity storage systems in power system with a high renewable energy (RE) rate as Vietnamese power system (Today, RE capacity is 27.2 % of the national power system capacity and this figure should be 41.5 % in 2045 as by draft PDP VIII).
