The inform from the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) said, in the recent years, the technical manageable assignments of EVN has achieved remarkable achievements, making an important contribution to improving the quality and reliability of power supply, in accordant with the power system with a largest installed capacity in Southeast Asia and 23rd in the world.

Considering proposals of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) on supplementing the electricity system operation plan in 2023 and according to the proposal of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has just approved the "plan for electricity supply and operation of the national power system in 2023”. The Vietnam Energy Magazine would like to raise the content of this Decision for the reference of our readers.

On the May 13 afternoon, at Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant (TPP), the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) held a ceremony for successful synchronizing unit 1 of Thai Binh 2 TPP with the National Power System.

At 3:36 p.m. on July 27, 2021, the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with relevant units powering the 500 kV line connecting Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant (TPP) with the National Power System (NPS). The project invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and managed by CPMB on behalf of EVNNPT was started for construction on April 09, 2018.

At Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant project (Hai Ha commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province), the general contractor and joint venture of contractors have successfully synchronized unit 1 into the national power sýtem. This event marks the efforts of the investor, general contractor and construction contractors to overcome difficulties in the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) informed that in the first 6 months of 2021, the electricity generation and import of the whole system reached 128.51 billion kWh, increasing 7.4% over the same period in 2020, including 14.69 billion kWh (equal to 11.4%)from the renewable energy projects, 624 million kWh (0.5%) from import.

At 14:55 on March 24, 2021, at Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Plant, Ngok Tem commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province, Unit 1 of the Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Plant (HPP) has successfully synchronized with the national system.

The Decision No13/2020 / QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on mechanisms to encourage developing solar power in Vietnam (Decision 13 for short), effective from May 22, 2020 (replacing Decision 11/2017 / QD-TTg expired on June 30, 2019) made motive power for many businesses and households to complete installing the solar power systems previously connected to the national power system.

On May 20, 2019, Cat Hiep solar power project (SPP) with a capacity of 49.5 MWp and average output of 70,000 – 80,000 kWh per year, the first SPP in Binh Dinh province was connected to the national power system for a commissioning operation.

At 10:30, on April 22, 2019, in Vinh Tan Power Center, the Extended Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Project (TPP) was the first time successfully synchronized with the national power system exceeding the schedule for 71 days in comparison with the plan under the Contract as July 1, 2019.
