In the meeting of Vietnam - US Trade and Investment Council, the Minister of Industry and Trade (MoIT) Tran Tuan Anh with the authorization of the Prime Minister handed the certificate to invest in Son My LNG power project in Binh Thuan province (Vietnam) for AES Company (USA).

In the framework of the Vietnam - Laos conference 2019 on development cooperation for Industry and Trade, for Energy and Mine, Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Tran Tuan Anh has had a talk with Minister of Energy and Mine of Laos Khem-ma-ni Phôn-sê-na and signed important documents of the cooperation.

On July 19, 2019, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, the Minister of Industry and Trade (MOIT) chaired a meeting with several units under the Ministry to discuss solutions to remove difficulties for the key power projects.

The Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh has issued the Decision to nominate Mr. Nguyen Hung Dung – PVN Vice General Director to the position of the member of PVN member council with the term of office, until retirement age. The decision takes effect from the date of signing (8/6/2018).

During the official visit of the General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong to France, on March 27, 2018 in Élysée Palace, under the witness of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and French President Emmanuel Macron, Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Tran Tuan Anh handed the investment approval paper of Son My-1 Thermal Power Plant (TPP) for Electricity of France (EDF).

During the State visit of the Korean President Moon Jae-in to Vietnam, on March 22, 2018 in Hanoi, under the witness of Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Paik Un Gyu, the Chairman of the Vietnam Energy Association (VEA) Tran Viet Ngai and Vice Chairman of the Korean Society for New And Renewable Energy (KNREA) Kwon-Pyo Hong signed the cooperation agreement on renewable energy.

At the Sixth International Conference on production and consumption of liquid natural gas (LNG) in Tokyo (Japan), the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Tran Tuan Anh put forward “5 opportunities” and “5 challenges” in the development of LNG industry in Vietnam to call for foreign and domestic enterprises to cooperate for investing in LNG in Vietnam.

Minister of Industry and Trade (MOIT) Tran Tuan Anh has signed the Directive No 04/CT-BCT on strengthening state management and executing the regulations of the laws on hydropower activities with the aim to achieve an active change in state management and law regulation executing of the relevant agencies, companies on planning, investing, building and operating hydropower projects with safe power generation, socio-environmental protection and general exploitation efficiency.
