According to information of Vinacomin, although Covid-19 pandemic impact, in the first 8 months of 2020, the production and business results of the group have reached: crude coal production of 27.06 million tons, coal sale of 30.74 million tons, soil and rock shoving of 130.81 million m3 increased by 27% in comparison with the same period of the last year, pit digging of 167.711m, aluminum production of 943.149 equivalent tons, electricity generation of 7.1 billion kWh, total turnover of 84.864 billion VND, profit of 1,300 billion VND and the budget payment of 12,900 billion VND increased by 3% over the same period of 2019.

In response to the 'double impact' caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and the sharp decline in oil prices, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) has proactively made the plans to adjust the Program of the action and budget of oil and gas  projects in 2020 corresponding with the oil price scenarios to timely cope with complicated market development.

In the first seven months of this year, PVN has paid to the state budget VND 61.8 trillion, exceeding 46% of its seven-month plan and equal to 83% of the year's plan.

The Nghi Son refinery plant in the  Nghi Son Economic Zone of the central province of Thanh Hoa, is expected to contribute about 8 trillion VND (342.6 million USD) to the State budget in 2018. 

At the press conference on December 30, 2014, PetroVietnam (PVN) informed that, in 2014 the Group handed in the State budge a VND 178.1 thousand billion sum over the year plan for VND 37.6  thousand billion, equivalent to US$ 1.77  billion
