HA TINH, 10 August 2026 – The Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee has issued four decisions approving the investment policies and investors for the Ky Anh 1, Ky Anh 2, Ky Anh 3 and Ky Anh 4 Wind Power Plant projects. With a combined capacity of 225 MW and total investment capital of VND 7.81 trillion, the projects are expected to establish a new renewable energy hub in the province, contributing to the implementation of the revised Power Development Plan VIII, national energy security and green growth.

Construction of the Dau Tieng 5 Solar Power Plant project has officially begun in Duong Minh Chau Commune, Tay Ninh Province, with DT5.1 Energy JSC holding the groundbreaking ceremony for the project.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc has directed relevant authorities to urgently complete the required documentation and submit to the Prime Minister for approval an adjustment to the Master Plan for Exploration, Extraction, Processing and Utilization of Minerals for the 2021–2030 Period, with a Vision to 2050, to address difficulties facing wind power projects in Lam Dong Province whose project areas overlap with the national mineral planning.

The People's Committee of Gia Lai Province has officially approved the investment policy for the Ia Le 2 Wind Power Plant Project, part of the Ia Le Wind Power Complex located in Chu Puh and Ia Le communes. Following the approval of the investment policy, the investor will be selected through a competitive bidding process.

On the morning of 16 July, Politburo Member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc chaired a meeting with the Ministry of Finance, relevant ministries and agencies, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Petrovietnam to review the progress of procedures for adjusting the investment policy of the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project, while also examining preparations for the investment phase of Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant 1.

On July 7, 2026, the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM), a special-class science and technology organization under the Ministry of Science and Technology, celebrated its 50th anniversary (1976-2026) at the Melia Hanoi Hotel.

The People's Committee of Gia Lai Province has approved the investment policy for the Ea Dreh Floating Solar Power Plant project, to be developed in Ia Dreh Commune, Gia Lai Province.

On the occasion of attending the High-Level Conference marking the 35th anniversary of ASEAN–Russia diplomatic relations in Kazan City, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung held a meeting with A. Likhachev, Director General of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom).

At Diet Pass (bordering Muong Coi Commune and Phu Yen Commune), the Son La Provincial People’s Committee, in coordination with the Northern Wind Energy Joint Stock Company, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Risen Phu Yen Wind Power Plant Project.

According to the National System and Market Operator (NSMO), TTC Duc Hue 2 Solar Power Plant, operated by TTC Duc Hue – Long An Power Joint Stock Company, officially joined the Vietnam Competitive Wholesale Electricity Market (VWEM) and commenced participation in the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism through the national grid from June 1, 2026.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long has signed Decision No. 1126/QD-BCT dated May 14, 2026, promulgating the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Action Plan to implement Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated March 30, 2026, issued by the Prime Minister on strengthening electricity conservation and promoting rooftop solar power development.

In nuclear power projects, the construction or installation phase is often perceived as the stage that decides success or failure. However, international experience reveals a different reality: Most of the greatest risks - regarding cost, schedule, and even safety - are "shaped" very early, before the project enters Front-End Engineering Design (FEED). For countries newly developing nuclear power like Vietnam, correctly identifying this "decisive point" is of particular importance.

SMARTGEN, a Vietnam-based energy solutions company, has accelerated its residential solar installation business in Vietnam in cooperation with POEN. This cooperation is meaningful in that SMARTGEN has strengthened its EPC capabilities in the residential solar market in Vietnam, while also securing a residential ESS supply system through its partnership with POEN.
