Amid mounting difficulties and challenges, and in the absence of a common consensus on investment in gas-fired power projects using domestic gas and imported LNG, investors in this sector have recently submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister outlining three key principles to resolve the remaining disagreements. These include: (1) Reasonable and fair risk allocation; (2) Two key proposals to remove existing bottlenecks; and (3) Addressing other bankability-related issues. On December 8, 2025, Kolon Industries’ Ho Chi Minh City plant (formerly located in Binh Duong), in collaboration with NuriFlex Vietnam, officially commenced commercial operation of its 5.151 MWp rooftop solar power system. This development marks a meaningful step toward sustainable corporate governance and contributes to Vietnam’s national goal of carbon neutrality.

Ho Chi Minh City – NuriFlex Vietnam, a subsidiary of Korea’s global energy solutions provider NuriFlex Group, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with C&N VINA to develop large-scale rooftop solar power systems across three major industrial parks in central and southern Vietnam. Covering an estimated 1,600 hectares, the initiative is expected to accelerate Vietnam’s clean energy transition and support the development of sustainable industrial zones in line with national policy.

The People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province has just approved the adjustment of the provincial plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. In the energy sector, new projects have been updated and added according to the allocated capacities, while also incorporating projects aligned with Prime Minister’s Decision No. 768/QĐ-TTg dated April 15, 2025, on the adjustment of the National Power Development Plan VIII.

In Hanoi, Mr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, President and CEO of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held a working session with the Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam and a delegation from Vestas - the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer. Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 39/QD-UBND (dated September 18, 2025), approving the investment policy for the Ky Anh Wind Power Plant project. This is the first approval decision, which also stipulates the form of investor selection through an invitation of interest and bidding for land-use projects.

On September 4, 2025, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam had a meeting with the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM). Attending were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, members of the Politburo, leaders of many departments, ministries, branches, scientists and representatives of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group. The Office of the Party Central Committee has just issued Notice No. 321-TB/VPTW, dated September 13, 2025, on the Conclusion of General Secretary To Lam on this working meeting.

Lotte Global Logistics and NuriFlex Vietnam have officially signed a partnership agreement to develop a rooftop solar power system at Lotte’s cold storage facility in Dong Nai. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the shared journey of the two companies toward green transformation and sustainable growth.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính signed Decision No. 1689/QĐ-TTg dated August 6, 2025, to consolidate the members of the Steering Committee for the Construction of the Nuclear Power Plant (the Steering Committee). This decision amends the composition of the Steering Committee specified in Article 3 of Decision No. 72/QĐ-TTg dated January 10, 2025, by the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Steering Committee for the Construction of the Nuclear Power Plant.

Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SEV) has officially inaugurated a rooftop solar power system at its SEV factory located in the Yen Phong Industrial Park, Bac Ninh.

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has signed Official Telegram No. 118/CD-TTg on behalf of the Prime Minister, urging the urgent implementation of tasks under Resolution No. 233/NQ-CP, dated December 10, 2024, concerning the resolution of obstacles facing renewable energy projects.

In Berlin (Federal Republic of Germany), the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK) signed a Joint Declaration establishing the Vietnam–Germany Energy Partnership, under the witness of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has approved the 2025 electricity tariff framework for offshore wind power plants in the Northern Gulf, South Central Coast, and Southern Sea regions of Vietnam.
