In recent days, the Electricity Power Trading Company (EVNEPTC), along with representatives from several departments of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), has held meetings and discussions with investors of renewable energy projects. These projects have received official acceptance test results from competent state agencies (CCA) after their recognized commercial operation date (COD).

On the afternoon of February 24, 2025, within the framework of a working trip to Korea, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a working session with leaders of several Korean enterprises including Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and KEPCO E&C, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, Doosan Enerbility to promote nuclear power cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.

On the morning of February 17, 2025, continuing the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly discussed special mechanisms and policies for investment in the construction of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project in the hall. Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien spoke and clarified several issues raised by National Assembly deputies.

Manila, Philippines, Feb 17, 2025 – Envision Energy, a global leader in green technology, has reached a significant milestone by signing the Turbine Supply Agreement with the EPC contractor PC1 Group in Vietnam on 24th January 2025. The agreement involves the supply of 58.5MW wind turbine generators for the Libmanan Wind Power Project in Camarines Sur, Philippines, developed by Aboitiz Power Corporation. It is expected to achieve commercial operation by the end of 2026.

On the morning of February 4, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for the construction of nuclear power plants, chaired the second meeting of the Steering Committee. At this meeting, with the requirement to strive to complete the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project before December 31, 2030, the Prime Minister assigned Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) as the investor of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant, and the National Energy Industry Group (Petrovietnam - PVN) as the investor of Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plant.

On January 15, 2025, at the Government Office, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the Steering Committee for the Construction of Nuclear Power Plants chaired the Steering Committee's first meeting. Also attending were the deputy prime minister, minister of foreign affairs Bui Thanh Son, leaders of ministries, branches, agencies, and steering committee members.

On January 13, 2025, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received General Director of the Russian Federation State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) Alexey Likhachev, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) recently announced that it has entered a power purchase agreement with Google in the Netherlands. Under the agreement, Google will purchase 250MW of wind power generated at the Zeevonk project to power its Dutch operations for 15 years.

On December 12, 2024, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference (online) to announce and implement the Government's Resolution on policies and directions to remove obstacles and difficulties for renewable energy projects.

General Secretary To Lam and the Central working mission have just inspected the planned site of the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant (in Vinh Truong village, Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district). Here, the General Secretary requested Ninh Thuan province to focus on closely following the direction of the Central Government and guidance and support from ministries and branches to prepare well for the conditions for restarting Vietnam's first nuclear power project.

PNE Group (Federal Republic of Germany) has opened an Office in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province. This is an important milestone for PNE's implementation of the Hon Trau offshore wind power project, which has a total capacity of 2,000 MW (3 phases) and a total investment capital of about 4.6 billion USD.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Fund II (CI GMF II), has taken the final investment decision (FID) on Project Arena, a 220 MW / 1,100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in the Antofagasta Region of northern Chile. The project will be one of Chile's first large-scale standalone BESS projects to reach commercial operations. On-site construction will commence in Q1.2025, with the expectation of delivering power as soon as Q1.2026.

In Hanoi, the Norwegian Embassy announced and presented the report “Offshore Wind Supply Chain for Fast-Rising Scenario of Vietnam”.

In September 2024, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) officially celebrated construction completion of the Zhong Neng offshore wind farm with a total capacity of 300MW. The project was developed by a joint venture between CIP (Denmark) and CSC, a Taiwanese state-owned enterprise and also Taiwan's largest steel producer.
