Hanoi, 26 Sept 2023, Solar Electric Vietnam JSC (SEV)- a Vietnam leading EPC contractor in the solar market, has signed a comprehensive agreement with Huawei and JJ-Lapp with the purpose of applying cutting-edge technology from Huawei and JJ-Lapp for its future solar rooftop projects.

11 July 2023, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - The Future Energy Show Vietnam & The Solar Show Vietnam, the largest energy event in Vietnam, returns to Ho Chi Minh City once again this week. This year’s event is especially significant given it will be the first event following Vietnam’s recent significant energy policy announcements.

Based on the results of independent research and evaluation from the database of the Government, relevant ministries and branches; as well as the voting criteria (breakthrough, difference, prominence bringing economic and social efficiency suitable with development trends...) of the energy sub-sectors, the Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine has voted 10 typical and outstanding events in 2022 of Vietnam's energy industry as follows:

29 June 2022, Vietnam - The Future Energy Show Vietnam & The Solar Show Vietnam, the largest energy events in Vietnam, return to Ho Chi Minh City once again this July. After an absence of more than three years, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event marks the first time that Vietnam’s energy leaders have been able to gather at scale since 2019.

On April 07, 2022, in Hanoi, with the participation of the Scientific-Technologic and Environmental Committee of Vietnam Assembly, State Bank, Climate Change Department- Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment (MNRE), Institute of Energy- Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Vietnam and International Organizations and Enterprises… Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Review and Vietnam Energy Information Center organize the Vietnam Clean Energy Forum (the Second) with the subject: "Towards Net Carbon –the Mechanisms, Policies, Technologies and Finance for the Solar, Wind and Gas power projects”.

According to the plan, on May 7, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "International Forum on Finance and Technology for Clean Energy Projects in Vietnam (first time)" and Voting "The TOP prestigious electrical equipment brands in Vietnam in 2020". However, due to complying with the measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic of the Government and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Forum had to stop right before one day. Faced with the situation of "force majeure" due to the pandemic, the experts and managers discussed and contributed opinions, the Science Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine decided to make a report and recommendations on a number of mechanisms and policies for the sustainable development of clean energy in Vietnam to the Prime Minister, the Head of the Central Economic Commission, the Minister of Industry and Trade as well as related ministries and industries.

The Vietnamese government aims to produce 10.7% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Vietnam's PV installations reached 13.437GW (ground + roof) in 2020. Vietnam has installed more than 101,939 rooftop solar systems with a total installed capacity of more than 9.3GW as of January 4, 2021, according to the report of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

On 23/12/2020, in Ho Chi Minh City, under the direction of the Office of the National Steering Committee for Electricity Development, the Science Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine organized the “First Vietnam Clean Energy Forum and Summurising the vote of the Leading clean energy enterprises in Vietnam 2020.

On December 11, 2020, in Hanoi, Korea Consortium and Trung Nam Group, signed Memorandum of Understanding in the energy sector. Accordingly, the Korea Consortium will support the Trung Nam Group in developing energy projects in Vietnam.

On October 19, 2020, in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide, the consortium of investors including PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), Vietnam Mechanical and Machine Assembly Joint Stock Company (Colavi), Tokyo Gas Group and Marubeni Group have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Quang Ninh LNG Power Project

Vietnam is one of the recognized renewable energy markets in the world, particularly in Southeast Asia region. It has a great potential to develop solar power, especially in its central and south regions. As the world is facing impacts of COVID-19 and the countries are bouncing back, the energy demand has been high like never before. Vietnam's energy demand is expected to grow by over 10 percent by the end of this year and by 8 percent per year in the next decade.

The period 2020 - 2030 will mark an important step in strong increasing the clean energy sources as renewable energy, LNG power in total power resource structure of Vietnam. This trend will continue after 2030. At the same time, the role of the private sector in the electricity/energy market will become important and significantly increase in coming future.

On June 22, in Hanoi, took place the signing ceremony of financial commitment between Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and French Development Agency (AFD) for Hoa Binh Extended Hydropower Project (EHPP).
