On February 13, 2025, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), Power Project Management Board 3 and the Contractor Consortium (Lung Lo Construction Corporation, Song Da Corporation, LILAMA 10 Joint Stock Company, SCI E&C Joint Stock Company, Construction Joint Stock Company 47, Truong Son Construction Corporation and Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation) held the signing ceremony of package 02XL-BA "Construction and installation of Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant - phase 2, phase 1 of the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant project - Ninh Thuan province".

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed Decision No. 261/QD-TTg dated February 11, 2025, on the establishment of the Council for Appraisal of the Adjustment of the Power Development Planning VIII (PDP VIII) for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has just issued Decision No. 23/QD-HDTV, dated January 16, 2025, approving the investment project for the 500 kV Lao Cai—Vinh Yen transmission line.

Primer Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Direction No 1/CT-TTg on 3/Januayy/2025 on solutions to ensure electricity is sufficient for people's lives, production and business in the high time of 2025 and in the 2026 – 2030 period.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has just signed Decision No. 1682/QD-TTg, dated December 28, 2024, approving the addition and update of the Plan for implementing the National Power Development Plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. This Decision issues an appendix to supplement and update the list of power source projects (in Appendix III) and transmission grids (in Appendix V) of Decision No. 262/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2024.

On December 21, 2024, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) coordinated with relevant units to energize the 220 kV Nam Sum—Nong Cong transmission line project successfully.

On December 17, 2024, in Hanoi, Chairman of The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Dang Hoang An and General Director of EVN Nguyen Anh Tuan chaired the 2024 Business and Customer Service Conference. The conference was conducted online and connected to the bridge points of power units nationwide.

On December 8, 2024, the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) held a conference to summarize the investment and construction of the third circuit 500kV line from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) with the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has just signed Decision No. 22/2024/QD-TTg abolishing all Decision No. 41/2017/QD-TTg (dated September 15, 2017) regulating the procedures for transferring power projects invested with state capital to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) for management. Decision 22 takes effect from January 15, 2025.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son signed and issued Decision No. 1274/QD-TTg, approving the investment policy of the 500 kV Lao Cai—Vinh Yen transmission line project. The investor is Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has just signed Decision No. 1271/QD-TTg dated October 25, 2024, approving the Project to Restructure The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) until the end of 2025 with a total overcome to grow by an average of 7-10%.

On October 19, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee with ministries and agencies on the implementation of important projects of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) to ensure adequate electricity supply and ensure national energy security.

Based on the inspection results of the interdisciplinary inspection team, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has just announced the results of the inspection of electricity production and business costs in 2023 of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).
