The Prime Minister has approved the project on Restructuring the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) with the main business fields as coal, minerals – metallurgy, electricity and industrial explosives.

The Prime Minister has accepted the suggestion of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) for exporting 2.05 million tons of coal per year in 2016-2020 period including 2.0 million tons of Vinacomin and 50thousand tons of Northeast Corporation.

According information of Vietnam News Agency, on April 27, at the headquarter of Lao Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Representative of the Government of Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) and Mr. Pham Ngoc Long - Director of the Long Van Limited Company of Vietnam signed a contract for the search, exploration and exploitation of coal in Sam Nuea district, Houaphanh province.

The National Coal - Minerals Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) informed, the Corporation has basically completed the first quarter production and business plan, accounting approximately 25% of 2016 year plan.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed the need to ensure power and coal supply in the decades to come, in service of national growth and development.
