In Hanoi, Mr. Pham Le Phu, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), recently chaired a meeting on plans to upgrade flue gas treatment systems at coal-fired power plants operated by the group. The discussion focused on implementation measures to meet stricter environmental regulations while ensuring a stable power supply for the national grid.

VER- “Combustion Flame Monitoring Technology to Improve Industrial and Power Boiler Efficiency”, the Vietnam Energy Review introduces a relatively new technology—TempVision Combustion. This technology functions like a “CT scan” diagnostic system in medical applications, but here, it is a “CT scan” for coal-fired power plant boilers. Experimental results from both international and domestic coal-fired power plants have demonstrated that when boilers are supported by “image-based diagnostics,” key combustion parameters can be adjusted in real time, leading to more stable fuel combustion, reduced fuel consumption, and minimized slagging at furnace corners—thereby helping to prevent failures such as slag hopper tube ruptures.
