From the results of the international conference "Policies for developing the wind, solar and gas power projects in Vietnam" organized by the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade, Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine at the end of August 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Conference Organizing Committee has reported to the Prime Minister and the Central Economic Commission on mechanisms and policies for developing these power projects in coming time.

On September 5, 2019in Hanoi, at the meeting with Mr. David Stone, General Director of Vietnam Market of AES Group (United States), Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, the Head of Central Economic Committee said that the AES group would contribute to investing in liquefied natural gas (LNG) fired power projects is very much suitable with the development orientation of Vietnam.

On May 22, in Hanoi, the United State Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) signed an agreement on USTDA fund of US$ 1.4 million for EVN to implement the project "Technical support for studying development of the gas power projects in Southern Vietnam".

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) on the current situation of implementation of the gas power projects in Dung Quat area, Mr. Dang Van Minh, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai provincial people’s committee (PPC) expressed that the Quang Ngai PPC always supports EVN to deploy the gas power projects in Quang Ngai.
