GE Vernova Commissions Vietnam’s First HA-Class LNG Power Plants

GE Vernova has announced the commercial operation of the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 combined-cycle gas power plants, developed by PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power). With a total installed capacity of 1.6 GW, the project is located at Ong Keo Industrial Park, Dai Phuoc Commune, approximately 70 km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.

On October 1, 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation - Joint Stock Company (PV Power) announced a credit contract worth 521.5 million USD to finance the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plant projects. This is a credit contract signed with a consortium of 2 banks Citi and ING, insured by KSURE and SERV.

On March 14, in Hanoi, PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) and the consortium of contractors (Samsung C&T Corporation), Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) held a ceremony for signing the Engineering –Procurement – Construction (EPC) Contract for Nhon Trach 3 &4 power plants and other relevant agreements.

The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Projects were approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy, appraised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) for basic designs, decided by PV Power for investment and managed by the Power Management Board for project development implementation.
