The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa is striving to bring the solar power plants in its territory to operation in 2019, according to local authorities.

Information from the Central Electricity Corporation (EVNCPC) said that the Central Rural Electricity Project Management Board (CPCCREB) has coordinated with the People's Committee of Cam Lam District (Khanh Hoa Province) to hold the conference for announcing the detailed planning in 1/500 scale for the Solar Power Project of EVNCPC with a capacity of 50MW and annual average generation of 87.6 GWh in Cam An Bac commune, Cam Lam district.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) has agreed in the policy for investment in 5 solar power projects including 02 floating projects on Suoi Dau and Cam Ranh lakes; and 03 ground-mounted projects as Long Son, Cam Lam and An Viet. Khanh Hoa PPC has also required the investor to harry up to implement the project documents to submit to Ministry of Industry and Trade for considering and adding them to Power Development Planning in 2011 – 2020 with outlook up to 2030.

Investors have shown interest in solar energy sector in the central coast province of Khanh Hoa, with about 10 solar projects applying for investment licenses in the province.

The information from Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) shows that the provincial administration has just agreed to invest the two solar power projects with a total capacity of 150 MW in this province.

The Khanh Hoa provincial people’s committee has agreed in principle to develop the solar PV project of EVN Central Power Corporation (EVN CPC) on a 95ha area in Thinh Son village, Thinh Tay commune, Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province.
