On November 29, 2018, in Hanoi, under direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Vietnam Energy Association (VEA) in cooperation with the Central Economic Committee, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) ad Petrovietnam (PVN) held the international conference on “ Sustainable energy development and environmental protection in Vietnam”.

At July 10, 2018, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh - Member of Communist Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of Central Economic Committee, Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of Member Council of PetroVietnam (PVN) and Mr. Alexey Miller – Chairman of Russian Gazprom had a working meeting in Moscow, the capital of Russian Federation.

On June 11th, 2018 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son, General Director of PVN had a working meeting with Mr. Russell Slokes, President and CEO of GE Power (USA).

Petrovietnam (PVN) has just decided to nominate Mr. Nguyen Quynh Lam – PVN Vice General Director to the position of Vietsovpetro General Director, an important position, because Vietsovpetro is the member with the highest contribution to the state budget of PVN. The previous Vietsovpetro General Director Mr. Tu Thanh Nghia has been transferred to PVN Southern Representative Office "for health reasons".

According to information from Petrovietnam (PVN), November 27, 2017, in Dong Ha city (Quang tri province), PVN mission headed by General director Nguyen Vu Truong Son had a working meeting with Gazprom (Russia) and Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) on perspective of Bao Vang (Gold Panther) gas field. At the meeting, the parties have agreed the roadmap and assigned concrete responsibilities for preparing project investment.
