PVN asks GE to support PM in Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Project

At this working meeting, PVN General Director asked the US partner to support Power Machines (Russian PM) contractor  to accelerate the progress of Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant Project.

At the meeting, Mr. Russell Slokes paid attention on the cooperation between PVN and GE and thanked PVN for its cooperation in supporting GE energy projects in Vietnam, especially the Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant Project.

Mr. Russell Slokes also expressed his desire to further develop GE's activities in Vietnam through the new opportunities for cooperation with PVN. He committed to further cooperation on technological solutions, optimizing the oil and gas exploitation and development costs, application of HA steam gas turbine technology (high efficiency and low energy consumption) into the projects of PVN in the coming time.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son noted the effective contribution and cooperation of GE in general and GE Power in particular for implementing projects of PVN and its member units in recent years.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son also asked GE to actively work with the US Government, PTSC and relevant partners in Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant to solve the difficulties caused by the embargo for the Russian Power Machines contractor in order to speed up implementing this project.

Mr. Son hoped that with the specialized ability and experiences in global energy development, GE will provide the best technological solutions for PVN's projects in the near future.
