On 3rd August 2021, at the headquarters of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), Chairman of the Board of Directors Hoang Quoc Vuong had a meeting and worked with Mr. Leonid Mikhelson, Chairman of Novatek Group (Russia).

PM Nguyen Tan Dung has affirmed his support for the cooperation between the Viet am Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Russian top oil producer Rosneft.

The cooperation between Power Machines – PM (Russia) and Energy sector of Vietnam has been started for more than half a century by providing generators for Thac Ba hydropower plant, and then for Uong Bi, Pha Lai thermal power plants and Tri An, Hoa Binh hydropower plants. PM has returned to the Vietnamese market since the early 2000s by the participation in developing Yaly, Can Don, Se San 3 hydropower plants and Uong Bi thermal power plant (the second phase extension project). Especially, PM is currently implementing EPC contract for Long Phu 1 thermal power project. Within the framework of "Russian Energy Week", the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Dien had a working meeting with the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolai Gregorievich Shulginov. At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the implementation situation of bilateral energy projects, as well as agreed on a number of major cooperation directions to be implemented in the near future.

On July 3, 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a federative act to ratify the Agreement on Russia – Vietnam Cooperation on geological survey and petroleum exploitation in Russia within the framework of Rusvietpetro joint – venture.

In a mission to the Russian Federation (from September 19 to 23), Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the delegates had a visit and working meeting at the oil and gas fields blocks under the Rusvietpetro Joint Venture a joint venture between PVN and Zerubrezhneft, in the Russian Federation.

According to information from the Vietnam National Coal- Mineral industry Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin), on April 6, 2015 in Hanoi, Vinacomin signed a MoU on the cooperation with Kamaz, a Russian largest Automobile Manufacture Corporation.

Deputy General Director of Rosatom, Vyacheslav Pershukov, said Vietnam is still in the stage of choosing nuclear power technology, while the investment rate can be calculated only after the completion of the design.

According to the Regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency  (IAEA), controlling  and operating the nuclear reactor built anywhere, is performed in the language of the reactor supply country. So, the language in Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will be Russian.

By the Decision No642-QĐ/TW dated 22/12/2017 of the Politburo of Communist Party of Vietnam, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, the member of Central Committee, Secretary of Lang Son provincial Communist party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Lang Son will relinquish all the positions in Lang Son province to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission and Chairman of the Member Council of Vietnam Niational Oil and Gas Group.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 1668/QD-TTg appointing Mr. Le Manh Hung - Member of the Board of Members, General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of PVN from January 1, 2024. (The appointment period is 5 years).

The Prime Minister has just signed the Decision No 818/QĐ-TTg dated July 02, 2019 on reappointing Mr. Le Minh Chuan as the Chairman of the Member’s Council of Vietnam Coal -Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) since June 27, 2019.

According to the Dicision No. 89/QĐ -TTg, dated on Jan 12, 2016, the Prime Minister has appointed Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh - General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) cum the Chairman of the Board of Directors’ duties as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PetroVietnam.

The P.M Nguyen Tan Dung issued the Decision No. 1056/QĐ-TTg dated on June 27th 2014 to appoint Board of Management of Vietnam National Coal, Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited Mr.  Le Minh Chuan as the Chairman of Vinacomin Member Council.
