The Prime Minister has just adjusted the content of the Decision No. 1576 / QD-TTg dated 11/09/2015 of the Prime Minister on approving the list of the project "Investment transmission grid 3".

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has just signed Decision No.519/QĐ-TTg on approving the investment policy of the project "Smart power grid application to develop renewable energy sources and effective energy use Energy (SGRE-EE), funded by the grant ODA of German Government.

Energy ministers of the 10-nation Association of Southeast Asian Nations, meeting from November 17 to 20 at an online summit hosted by Vietnam, set a target of a 23 percent renewable energy share by 2025.

The Prime Minister has approved the financial mechanism of grid development projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities with loans from Asian Development Bank (ADB), ASEAN Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

The draft Power Planning Development VIII (PDP VIII) contains fundamental changes in the power plants to meet the Net-zero commitment. On the basis of the power plants expected to be approved in PDP VIII to supply electricity for the socio-economic development in the coming period. At present Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is implementing scenarios for developing power plants and projects releasing power capacity under the investment promotion policies.

With the Nearly USD 367 million to develop power grids in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh city,  in which, ODA financed by ADB and ASEAN Infrastructure Fund (AIF) is USD 272.71 million; counterpart fund is USD 94.27 million arranged by Ha Noi Power Corporation and Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation.

On the afternoon of February 21, at the Government office, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received  Mr. Makhtar Diop, Vice President of the World Bank (WB) in charge of infrastructure. At the receiption, Mr. Makhtar Diop informed: ”WB is ready to support Electricity Of Vietnam (EVN) for developing power grids, especially grids for connecting solar power systems to the national power system.

The Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the US Embassy in Vietnam held a seminar in late May to discuss opportunities in Vietnam’s power transmission development.

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is planning to have all equipment on transmission lines and 80 percent of 110 kV circuit facilities digitalised from now to 2022.

As part of an extensive program to ensure a reliable national power supply in Vietnam, Siemens received an order from the state-run energy company, Electricity of Vietnam National Load Dispatch Centre (EVN NLDC), to improve the performance of the nationwide transmission grid. Siemens will supply and install products and systems for detecting and evaluating failure situations in the grid, for ensuring grid quality and for detecting and monitoring dynamic grid states.

The Prime Minister has just approved a list of the stage 3 power transmission grid projects, invested by loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the German Reconstruction Credit Institute (KFW).

On December 5, Vietnam Citibank successfully arranged an US$ 245 million long-term (13 years)  export credit for National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). The credit is guaranteed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance and insured by the Japanese Export Credit and Investment  Insurance Agency (NEXI). This is a second credit  insured by NEXI for EVN NPT in Vietnam.

On August 8th, 2014, in Hanoi,  the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) held a Ceremony for publishing the Decision on the  appointment of Mr. Vu Ngoc Minh to the post of the Member of Member Council and General Director of EVNNPT replacing Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung who retires by regulations.

In Hanoi, Deputy General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Vo Quang Lam just had a meeting with the Asia-Pacific Regional Director of Electricity of France (EDF) International Networks, Mr. Lionel Besombes about the possibilities of cooperation in the electricity transmission and distribution. The meeting was connected online to the EDF representative point in the French Republic.

On November 3, 2021, the Government Office issued announcement No 296/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the meeting of the Government Permanent Council on land rent collection from the power transmission lines.
