Eni Vietnam B.V Operator has carried out 2 seam space test, collecting extensive data on fluid samples showing significant hydrocarbon accumulation at the Ken Bau discovery, estimated from 7 to 9 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas on the spot and about from 400 to 500 million of condensate barrels. The above oil and gas estimate reserve from 114- Ken Bau- 2X qualifying well is a historical discovery of the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry so far.

At the meeting with Mr. Ashish Kumar - General Director of India Essar Group (India), Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) proposed researching the development of cooperation between this group and Dung Quat Oil Refinery to research developing an integrated petrochemical project with the overall development orientation of using gas - condensate from the Ken Bau field.

On the morning of January 25, 2019, as planned, CTC1-WHP exploiting rig in Sturgeon (Ca Tam) Field, Lot 09/3-12 gave First Oil, with an initial production of 1,630 tons/day. At October 30 evening, in Ho Chi Minh city, PetroVietnam held a welcome ceremony for the first oil flow from the drilling rig H5 of the white rhino field managed by Hoang Long Company in join-venture with partners from Vietnam, US and Thailand. Vice Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai attended and spoke at the ceremony.

PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) informed: the Project on Development the Thai Binh Gas Field, at 102-106 Lots of Song Hong Basin offshore Gulf of Tonkin under the PCOSB Operator has given the first commercial gas flow of a 5 million cubic feet per day output (1 cubic foot is equivalent to 0.028 cubic meter) from TB-1P Well.

In the coming time, Vietnam and Azerbaijan will promote opportunity of potential cooperation in petroleum field from upstream, midstream to downstream.
