Ministry of Finance is drafting a Decree on protection environmental fees for exploitation of crude oil, natural & coal gases and minerals.

Vietnamese Government has issued new Decree on Environmental Protective Fees (EPFs) in mining minerals, according to which the EPF for: crude oil is 100,000 dong/ton, natural and coal gases -  50 dong/m3, associated gas – 35 dong/m3.

Many of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem)’s chemical plants continued to invest in improving their wastewater, exhaust and waste collection and treatment systems last year. They paid special attention to choosing less polluting technologies that met Vietnam’s requirements for environmental protection.

Distribution faults can damage equipment, reduce reliability, and adversely affect a utility’s bottom line. Some existing fault-management strategies can even cause more damage by multiplying the energy applied to a system when testing a line for faults after an event. In October 2020, NIRAS was awarded a multi-million US dollar contract to conduct an international standard Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the 3.5GW La Gan offshore wind farm in Binh Thuan Province of Vietnam. The La Gan project is being jointly developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), Asiapetro and Novasia, and is expected to be one of the first large-scale offshore wind farms in Vietnam.
