Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee (PPC) has just submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister (PM) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to add 22,342 MW to the National Electricity Development Planning (PDP) for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision up to 2045 (PDP VIII).

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) informed: Recently, there a number of power grid projects for releasing power of solar and wind projects was completed over progress. However, to strengthen the ability of the power grids for releasing power of renewable energy (RE) in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces, EVN proposes to supplement a number of power grid projects in these provinces to the power development planning (PDP).

At 9:00 am, on June 22, 2019, in Vinh Tan commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province, the Electricity of Vietnam Generating Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3) held a celebrating ceremony for the commercial power generation of Vinh Tan 2 solar power project (SPP).

In the morning of June 12, 2019, the Duc Thanh Mui Ne Joint Stock Company held a ceremony for the inauguration and commercial operation of Mui Ne Solar Power Project (SPP) with a capacity of 40MWp.

The Da Nhim – Ham Thuan – Da Mi (DHD) Hydropower Joint Stock Company in cooperation with related units successfully organized synchronization for the floating solar power project on reservoir of Da Mi hydropower plant (HPP) at 13h46 of May 13, 2019.

According to the Binh Thuan provincial People's Committee (PPC), Binh Thuan province has 113 potential areas/projects for solar power with a total capacity of 11,648 MWp on an area of 14,198 ha, among which, there are 90 projects with a total capacity of 5,341.06 MWp on an area of 6,720.48 hectares and a total registered investment capital of137,208.85 billion VND, considered and approved by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in the project "Solar Power Development Planning in Binh Thuan province up to 2020 with a vision to 2030".

The Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee has granted the decision on investment policy for Dai Phong Investment Development Joint Stock Company to invest in Dai Phong Wind Power Project (phase 1), in Thien Nghiep commune, Mui Ne Ward, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province.

On May 17, 2018, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai and the delegation of Binh Thuan province had a meeting with Pacifico Energy Corporation in Tokyo. Mr. Willliam Nathan Fraklin - President and CEO of Pacifico Energy received and worked with the delegation.

Speaking at the working meeting with Chinese Sungrow Power group, Mr. Luong Van Hai, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) said, this province always “opens the door” for capable and financially viable partners to invest in wind and solar power projects in the province.
