Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to work closely with and support Vietnam to effectively cope with climate change.

On Sep 30 morning, in Hanoi, Siemens Vietnam has held the “ASEAN in a climate of change: spotlight on sustainable energy in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam” report, which was conducted by Economist Corporate Network (ECN) and sponsored by Siemens.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang asked for US assistance in responding to climate change in Vietnam while receiving US Ambassador Ted Osius in the city to Vietnam on April 14.

Hanoi wishes to receive Amsterdam city’s assistance in building an environment monitoring system, clean energies and sharing of experience in climate change adaptation, said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

According to statistics from the National Power Regulation Center, during the one-hour switch-off during the 2014 Earth Hour campaign (from 8.30-9.30pm on March 29), the power output saved of the whole system was 431,000 kWh, equivalent to VND650 million.
