Recently, wind power projects in Quang Tri province were pushed up a schedule in difficult conditions on the Covid-19 pandemic, racing to preferential FIT prices. Currently, in Quang Tri province, there are 17 wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,242.4 MW, total investment capital of more than VND 43,442 billion, supplemented to the planning and approved by the Provincial People's Committee.

On July 23rd, at Huong Hoa, Quang Tri province, Vietranstimex conducted a trial run of the Blade Adapter to obtain a permit for wind turbine blade transport. Previously, these blade adapters were tested successfully at Hon La yard, Quang Binh province.

On December 10, 2019, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee (PPC) issued a Decision on approval for Huong Linh 4 Wind Power Company to invest in developing Huong Linh 4 Wind Power Project.

On June 30, 2019 in Gia Thanh commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province, Licogi 13 Joint Stock Company held a ceremony for inaugurating LIG – Quang Tri solar power project (SPP).

On June 27, in Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, the Huong Phung 2 & 3 wind power projects (WPP) were started for construction.

Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) has issued a decision to accept LICOGI 13 Stock-Joint Company for investing in LIG - Quang Tri solar power project with a designed capacity of 49.5 MWp and average generation of 67.960 MWh/year.

According to information from Petrovietnam (PVN), November 27, 2017, in Dong Ha city (Quang tri province), PVN mission headed by General director Nguyen Vu Truong Son had a working meeting with Gazprom (Russia) and Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) on perspective of Bao Vang (Gold Panther) gas field. At the meeting, the parties have agreed the roadmap and assigned concrete responsibilities for preparing project investment.
