PVN and Petronas strengthen the foundation of oil and gas cooperation and expand new fields

In 2023, Vietnam and Malaysia celebrate 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations. Based on cultural and historical bronze statues, as well as a strong political and diplomatic cooperative foundation, the Vietnam - Malaysia Strategic Partnership has achieved substantive results in many fields.
For more than 30 years, PVN and Petronas have cooperated effectively in the oil and gas sector both upstream and downstream, overcoming the ups and downs of the oil and gas industry and becoming reliable partners.
As active members in ASEAN in general and the ASEAN Petroleum Council (ASCOPE) in particular, PVN and Petronas have been working closely together to share information, knowledge, as well as practical experiences that the two parties are mutually interested in. With a close geographical location and good relationship between the two countries, Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director of PVN believed that PVN and Petronas will continue to contribute significantly to a prosperous ASEAN community.
Mr. Tengku Taufik - General Director of Petronas highly appreciated the close, long-term partnership between PVN and Petronas.
Reviewing the history of cooperation development between the two corporations, from the first petroleum contract (PSC), with their roles as two national oil and gas corporations in the ASEAN region. Mr. Taufik hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen cooperation in the spirit and principles of ASEAN, contributing to ensuring energy security and promoting the energy transition process.
