At the working meeting with the key leaders of Quang Ngai province on Feb 22, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed: Although the crude oil prices in the world continue sharp fall, Vietnam still is determined to upgrade and expand Dung Quat oil refinery Plant in coming time.

In fact, Because the capacity for producing gasoline and oil products is much lower than its consumption demand, Vietnam still has to spend billions of dollars to import petrochemical products for domestic demand and according to the demand forecast, Vietnam will lack a large amount of gasoline and oil products in the future...

Bulgaria’s Prista Oil will co-operate with the state-run PetroVietnam to set up an oil recycling plant to manage and treat used oil in Vietnam.

At a conference to review 10-year implementation of the engineering industry development strategy in Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung directed that in the coming time, Vietnam’s engineering industry needs to work out more suitable schemes to improve both its capability and competitive capability to target stable and sustainable development.

Preferential policies for the engineering sector were approved by the government, but a thorough implementation of these is unseen. Engineering enterprises are currently striving to increase the local content of their products, which is part of the sectoral development strategy and was discussed at a recent seminar on solving issues with key mechanical projects.

Many of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem)’s chemical plants continued to invest in improving their wastewater, exhaust and waste collection and treatment systems last year. They paid special attention to choosing less polluting technologies that met Vietnam’s requirements for environmental protection.

 Vietnam’s energy sector is receiving special attention from foreign investors, especially leading global groups in this field.

Establishing a presence on the international market may emerge as the "new normal" for the energy sector in Vietnam.

In many recent years, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) cooperated with most international organizations, institutions, and large international energy groups including the government, non-government, and energy corporations of the United State of America to meet the actual development requirements of Vietnam national power system. These substantive and practical relationships have contributed to the strong development of Vietnam's electricity industry in recent times.

Mr. Doan The Vinh, Deputy Director of Nuclear and Thermal Power Plants Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s General Department of Energy has noted that under the national power development plan with a vision to 2030, Vietnam will require 194-210 billion kWh of electricity in 2015, 330-362 billion kWh in 2020, and 695-834 billion kWh by 2030. All this energy must be either produced domestically or imported.

The Prime Minister has just have an instruction to untie the difficulties and promote the implementation  of the strategy for developing Vietnamese Mechanical Sector.

From April 6th to 8th April 2014, the second meeting term of the Inter-government Committee on Vietnam - UAE cooperation was held in Abu Dhabi Capital and Dubai City of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In more than 40 years of diplomatic relations, since 1971, Vietnam – Norway relations have constantly consolidated and developed in the fields of politics, economy and culture. In particular, cooperation in the energy sector has grown strongly in recent years.

The Prime Minister has improved the project on restructuring power sector in 2016 – 2020 with orientation up to 2025.
