The Vietnamese coal industry will focus on strengthening the application of scientific and technological advances in production to increase labor productivity, reduce costs, and ensure worker safety in order to drive towards sustainable development.

During the term 2015-2020, the Party Committee of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (Vinacomin) has renovated and strongly promoted the scientific and technological development as application of mechanization, automation and computerization in the production and business activities. 

According to the plan, on May 7, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "International Forum on Finance and Technology for Clean Energy Projects in Vietnam (first time)" and Voting "The TOP prestigious electrical equipment brands in Vietnam in 2020". However, due to complying with the measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic of the Government and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Forum had to stop right before one day. Faced with the situation of "force majeure" due to the pandemic, the experts and managers discussed and contributed opinions, the Science Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine decided to make a report and recommendations on a number of mechanisms and policies for the sustainable development of clean energy in Vietnam to the Prime Minister, the Head of the Central Economic Commission, the Minister of Industry and Trade as well as related ministries and industries.

In May, 20th, 2015, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) had set up a conference for accepting the scientific and technological theme “Study on the establishment of the criterion set for evaluating the level of the technological innovation and modernization in the coal and solid minerals mining and processing field in Vietnam”.

Participating in the Awards Ceremony that took place in November 2023, Goldwind was excellently selected and honored for GWH182 in the Turbine Technology Innovation of the Year category.   The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) announced the projects awarded with the “Vietnam Fund for Scientific and Technological Creations (VIFOTEC)” prize. Among the awarded projects there is the third prize of the engineer Dao Xuan Gioi and his coworkers in Binh Son Single Member Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd (BSR) with the “Solutions for decreasing bridge wall temperature (BWT), flue gas temperature, and saving fuel for H-1101 heat gain furnace at the crude oil distilling unit (CDU) of Dung Quat Refinery”.

Gao Jifan, chairman of the global PV and smart energy solutions provider Trina Solar, has used his appearance at the BloombergNEF Summit in Shanghai to tell his global peers about the way in which he sees the industry heading.
