The Vietnamese petroleum industry has collaborated with high-level domestic research and consulting agencies to successfully conduct a good number of R&D (research & development) projects, resulting in important economic effects and regional and global significance.

In a mission to the Russian Federation (from September 19 to 23), Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the delegates had a visit and working meeting at the oil and gas fields blocks under the Rusvietpetro Joint Venture a joint venture between PVN and Zerubrezhneft, in the Russian Federation.

On October 17, 2018, in Government Office, Vice Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung received Mr. Naser Al Hajri- Deputy general manager of Mubadala Petroleum Group (MP) from United Arabia Emirates (UAE) in charge of affairs in Southeast Asia. At the meeting, Mr. Naser Al Hajri expressed MP desire to develop the small oil and gas and renewable energy projects in Vietnam.

The service contracts on treatment of Dai Hung gas, and operation & maintenance of Dai Hung gas compressing system on Thien Ung rig have been signed between Vietsopetro (VSP) and PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), PetroVietnam Domestic Exploration Production Operating Company Limited (PVEP-POC).
