Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has just signed Decision No. 1682/QD-TTg, dated December 28, 2024, approving the addition and update of the Plan for implementing the National Power Development Plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. This Decision issues an appendix to supplement and update the list of power source projects (in Appendix III) and transmission grids (in Appendix V) of Decision No. 262/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2024.

On December 12, 2024, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference (online) to announce and implement the Government's Resolution on policies and directions to remove obstacles and difficulties for renewable energy projects.

In Hanoi, Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of the Member Council of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) just had a working meeting with the Korean Mission of the GS Energy led by Mr. Kim Sung Won - Director of Global Energy Development. The GS Energy proposed EVN to support and assist in implementing and commercial operating process of the Long An 1 and 2 LNG - Power Projects.

In order to speed up the procedures for deploying investment in developing power projects (power plants and grids) for electricity importation from Laos to Vietnam, recently Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) directed a mission of EVN National Power Transmission (EVN NPT) headed by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tung, NPT chairman to have working meeting with a number of the investors of power projects in Laos.

On March 14, in Hanoi, PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) and the consortium of contractors (Samsung C&T Corporation), Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) held a ceremony for signing the Engineering –Procurement – Construction (EPC) Contract for Nhon Trach 3 &4 power plants and other relevant agreements.

The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Projects were approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy, appraised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) for basic designs, decided by PV Power for investment and managed by the Power Management Board for project development implementation.

Information from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) said: The investment management activities of PVN in recent times had many positive evolutions. Besides putting oil and gas fields into operation as planned, the progress schedules of the power projects (Song Hau 1 – 2x600 MW, Thai Binh 2 – 2x600 MW) were also accelerated.

On October 4, in Hanoi, PetroVietnam Power Corporation - JSC (PV Power) held a signing ceremony to appoint a consortium for arranging and coordinating capital mobilization for Nhon Trach 3 & 4 power projects.

The future of Petrovietnam Power Corporation - JSC (PV Power) is facing a challenging period, determined by the success or failure of investment in new projects.

At the meeting with PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) and Tin Nghia Corporation on cleaning the plan ground for Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power projects, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee (PPC) agreed to let PV Power sign a lease directly with the government agency.
