Sao Mai Group, the Investor of Sao Mai Solar Power Project (SPP) and EVN Electric Power Trading Company have just held the Ceremony to sign the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Sao Mai SPP with an electricity tariff of 2086 VND/kWh at the point of electricity delivery for 20 years since the date of project commercial operation.

The signing ceremony on Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) from SP Infra Solar Poewer Plant 1 between Electricity Power Trading Company (Electricity of Vietnam - EVN) and Shapoorji Finacial Financial Infrastructure Company Ltd., (India) took place in Hanoi on July 17, 2018.  

In the morning of June 14, 2019, in Cam Lam district (Khanh Hoa province), the representative of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and the related units organized to synchronize the first phase (with design capacity of 10 MW) of the solar power project (SPP) of EVNCPC with the national power system.

Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) has assigned the Vinacomin - Power Corporation to invest in the first solar power project with a capacity of 15MW and investment level of about US$ 15 million on the reservoir of Dong Nai 5 hydropower plant in Dong Nai province.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just decided to supplement the Trung Son Solar Power Project (SPP) project to the Power Development Planning of Khanh Hoa province in 2016-2020 period with the vision to 2035.

On May 25, in Cam Thinh Dong and Cam Thinh Tay communes, Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, Song Giang Solar Power Joint Stock Company held the  ceremony for inaugurating Song Giang solar power project (SPP), the first SPP to be put into operation so far in Khanh Hoa province.

A ground breaking ceremony of BCG Bang Duong Solar Power Project has been held by Bang Duong BCG Energy JSC (a member of Bamboo Capital Group) in Thanh An commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An province. This is the first solar power project in Long An province.

Gia Lai Electric Joint Stock Company (GEC) - a member of TTC Group has signed the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with Vietnam JGC Co., Ltd for deploying the Krong Pa solar power plant project.  

On April 24, in Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province, the ceremony for inaugurating Le Thuy Dohwa solar power project with a capacity of 49.5 MWp under the Le Thuy Dohwa renewable energy complex was held by Investor as Dohwa Engineering Group - Korea.

Explaining an information that, in recent years, many wind and solar projects were initially assigned to Vietnamese investors, but later transferred to Foreign investors to invest, own, manage and operate, Mr. Hoang Tien Dung - Director of Electricity and Renewable Energy Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) affirmed that transferring all or a part of the investment project is a normal transaction in the market mechanism and is regulated by the Investment Law.

German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) have signed a cooperation agreement with public and private partners to implement a new project on combining aquaculture and solar power in the Mekong Delta region.

On May 06, 2019, the management board of Binh Dinh Provincial Economic Zone held a ceremony to hand the investment license certificate for QNY solar power project.

The central city of Da Nang, in cooperation with the European Union (EU), has launched a pilot project to develop solar energy in the city.
