Signing Power Purchase Agreement for Sao Mai Solar Power Project

The Sao Mai Solar Power Project with a capacity of 210 MW and annual average generation of 302 million kWh is one of the largest solar power plants in Southeast Asia.
The Sao Mai Solar Power Project having an total investment of VND 10,000 billion will be developed in for stages from now to 2020 on an area of 275 ha in An Hao commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province where there is the high solar radiation. Electricity of the project expects to be supplied for thousands of households in the southwestern border areas of An Giang province and neighboring provinces of Cambodia.
Previously, in mid of May 2017, at Vam Cong industrial zone, Lap Vo district, Dong Thap province, the Sao Mai Group already held the Ceremony for putting into operation Sao Mai 1 solar power project with a capacity of 1.06 MW, equipment supplied and installed by Japanese Kiyo Corporation - a strategic partner of Sao Mai Group..
The Sao Mai 1 solar power project with a total investment of US$ 2 million is expected to contribute to reduce the payment for electricity consumption of IDI company - a member of Sao Mai Group pay at least for 20% per year.
This project is only a starting step of Sao Mai group in the solar power development plan with a total electricity generation of 2.5 billion kWh per year in next 10 year period. VietnamEnergy.vn
