On May 9, 2022, during a business trip to the US, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) had working sessions with partners/suppliers of crude oil in Houston (USA).

At present, Indonesia is a country which exports coal with an large volume for Vietnam. As planned, only Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) will import coal as about 5 million tons in 2017, 11 million tons by 2020 and 19 million tons by 2025 (about 1/3 of total import coal volume of Vietnam).  

Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of the Member Council of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) just had a working meeting with Mr. Tan See Leng - Minister of Manpower Ministry and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Singapore, and the delegates of the Singapore Mission to Hanoi for exchanging views on cooperation in the energy field. At the meeting, the two sides expected that Vietnam and Singapore's power grids may be connected by 2035 for Singapore to buy offshore power electricity from Vietnam.

On Oct 20, 2015, President and CEO Dang Thanh Hai had a meeting with delegation of Marubeni headed by Mr. Hirohide Sagara - Chief Representative in Vietnam of Marubeni Corporation.

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a document to agree on the policy of planning a floating warehouse to receive 150.000 tons of LNG in the Tra Ly coat for the Thai Binh LNG Power Center with the proposal of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee.

At the online over handing conference on production operation in September 2019, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai, the General Director of Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin)  asked the member units to pay interest to coal import to meet the demand of customers, especially power generation with a goal to strive achieving 7 million tons of import coal in 2019.

The Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over a meeting of the Government Standing members on promoting cooperation with Laos by importing from this country 1,200 MW in 2020 and 5,000 MW in 2030.

In the Afternoon of October 3, 2014, in Hanoi, the PetroVietnam Coal Import and Supply Company (PV Power Coal) has signed a framework contract on long-term coal purchase with the Bukit Asam and Prima  Multi Minerals (Indonesia) partners.

After obtaining a conditional import license and Conditional Approval from the Singapore Government at the end of 2023, recently, in Vung Tau City, Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Joint Stock Corporation (PTSC) had a meeting with the Singapore Government Mission to visit the material infrastructure of PTSC and work on the project.

On March 3, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Minister Nguyen Hong Dien chaired a meeting with the leaders of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), and Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV), Power Generation 1, Power Generation 2, Power Generation- 3 Joint Stock Company, TKV Power Company, PVN Power Company, Northeast Coal Corporation; Ninh Binh Fertilizer Single Company Limited, Ha Bac Fertilizer and Chemical Joint Stock company and a number of the coal-fired thermal power plants on the coal supply and coal import for electricity and nitrogen fertilizer production.
