Vinacomin strives to import 7 million tons of coal in 2019

 - At the online over handing conference on production operation in September 2019, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai, the General Director of Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) asked the member units to pay interest to coal import to meet the demand of customers, especially power generation with a goal to strive achieving 7 million tons of import coal in 2019.

The report of Vinacomin at the conference informed that in August, the Group produced 2.65 million tons of raw coal, sold 3.45 million tons, and imported 605 thousand tons of coal. The main business and production targets of the Group have been fulfilled as planned.

The group turnovers were as of 5,055 billion VND for selling coal, 1,506 billion for minerals, 671 billion for electricity, 145 billion for mechanical products, 335 billion for industrial explosive materials and 1,667 billion for other products.

In September, the Group aims to produce 2.7 million tons of raw coal and sell 3.8 million tons of coal; 119,000 tons of aluminum, 4,000 tons of fine copper ore, 1,000 tons of copper plates, 900 tons of zinc lumps, 12,000 tons of fine iron ore, 540 million kWh of electricity and 5,000 tons of dynamite…

The General Director Dang Thanh Hai called for all the  member units to economize costs, improve production and business efficiency. He also asked them to actively coordinate with the local authorities, strengthen inspection, control and protect resources within the boundaries of mining licenses and boundaries of resource management, resolutely resist coal loss from inside the mine and tighten management for the upstream coal source.

On the other hand, continue strictly implementing the Directive No. 21 / CT-Tg dated August 26, 2015 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the state management of coal production and business activities. In addition, the production units must focus on tightening the labor safety management, perfecting preventive measures and intensify on-site inspection to minimize serious labor accidents.
