The Vinacomin in 30 years of establishment and development

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Group delivered a commemorative speech.

The Vinacomin, formerly Vietnam National Coal Corporation, was established on October 10, 1994 under the decision of the Prime Minister.

With the attention of the Party, State, Government, ministries, agencies and the coordination of localities, partners and customers, under the direct leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, the continuous efforts of generations of leaders and workers, the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" has been promoted, overcoming difficulties and challenges, gradually transforming and developing.

From the foundation of a State-owned Corporation, after 30 years of construction and development, Vinacomin has become a strong State-owned economic group, one of the three pillars ensuring national energy security, playing an important role in the development of the country.

The total assets of Vinacomin by the end of 2023 increased more than 97 times compared to the year of establishment, preserving and developing state capital; overcome grew remarkably with an average growth rate of 18%/year (in 1995, overcome was 2,500 billion, by 2023 overcome reached 170,000 billion); pre-tax profit from 40 billion VND in 1995 to 6,000 billion VND in 2023; state budget contribution in 1995 reached 120 billion VND, in 2023 reached 29,000 billion VND; current average salary reached over 17million VND/person/month, of which miners reached over 21 million VND/person/month.

Thanks to effective production and business, Vinacomin has made a significant contribution to the state budget, especially in Quang Ninh province – a strategic production area of Vinacomin.

In production and business, Vinacomin has accelerated the development of the coal industry, meeting the coal demand of the economy; effectively applied mechanization - automation - computerization in management, operation and production and business; the mineral sector has been developed in the direction of increasing deep processing, notably the successful implementation of two pilot projects to exploit Bauxite in the Central Highlands; successfully developed the fields of electricity, industrial explosives, mechanics, and construction materials on the basis of the coal industry.

With its contributions to the country, Vinacomin is honored to be awarded noble titles by the Party and the State such as: Gold Star Medal, Labor Hero in the Renovation Period...

Mr. Ho Sy Hung - Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises congratulated, acknowledged and commended the achievements of TKV on the 30-year journey of construction and development.

Congratulating and praising the achievements of Vinacomin over the 30-year journey of construction and development, Mr. Ho Sy Hung - Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises emphasized that these achievements were achieved thanks to the continuous efforts and solidarity of cadres and employees through the periods. Vinacomin today is a traditional enterprise with 180 years of history in the Vietnam Coal industry, growing to create the position and responsibility of a key economic group, preserving and developing state capital, contributing to the development of localities where Vinacomin operates as well as the whole country.

According to Mr. Ho Sy Hung, in faced with the demand for rapid and sustainable development, Vinacomin needs to pay attention to researching and innovating the growth model; Constantly innovate, effectively apply 3-industry, digital transformation, increase business competitiveness; perform well in labor safety, environmental protection, ensure in harmony with the strategy of green and sustainable development; focusing on training and developing human resources, building a team of highly qualified workers; building a strong political system.

Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the Party, the State, ministries, central and local branches... and expressed gratitude to generations of miners who have made many contributions to the development of TKV.

At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the souls of the miners who sacrificed for the cause of coal and mineral production, along with generations of cadres and workers of all periods in the Vinacomin who have tirelessly devoted themselves to the development of Vinacomin.

On this occasion, the Vinacomin was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises for its outstanding achievements in work, contributing to the development of the Committee and a banner on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its establishment; 23 collectives were honored to receive the emulation flag of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises for their outstanding achievements leading the emulation in 2023; 17 collectives received certificates of merit from the Group for their achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vinacomin; 16 workshops and teams received the emulation flag for their leading productivity of the Vinacomin.

The road ahead is full of difficulties and challenges, requiring Vinacomin to make breakthroughs, develop strongly, and perform well the tasks assigned by the Party and the State; continue to promote the tradition of "Discipline and Unity", unite and unanimously build Vinacomin to develop sustainably, contributing more to the development of the Country ./.
