The two sides discussed energy trade, particularly U.S. LPG supplies to Vietnam, as well as potential cooperation in liquefied natural gas (LNG), LNG infrastructure development, floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs), and related areas.
In recent years, the United States has been one of PV GAS’s major LPG supply markets. In 2025, PV GAS imported approximately 1 million tonnes of refrigerated LPG, including more than 528,000 tonnes from the United States, accounting for 52.8% of its total LPG imports. In 2026, U.S. supplies continued to account for a significant share of PV GAS’s import portfolio, helping diversify supply sources and meet domestic market demand.
At the meeting, General Director Duong Tri Hoi expressed his appreciation for PV GAS’s trade relations with U.S. partners, particularly in LPG. Building on the company’s capabilities, experience and development strategy, he expressed its interest in strengthening ties with U.S. businesses and exploring opportunities in gas trading, LNG infrastructure development and other potential areas.
He emphasized that cooperation opportunities should be assessed based on actual demand, competitive commercial terms and economic efficiency, with a view to achieving long-term benefits for all parties.
Alongside its established LPG trade, PV GAS has also initiated discussions with several U.S. energy companies regarding potential LNG supplies. These initial engagements provide a basis for further evaluation of cooperation opportunities aligned with market demand and the company’s development strategy.
The meeting strengthened ties between PV GAS and U.S. government agencies and businesses, facilitating information exchange and exploring practical cooperation opportunities. Building on existing trade relations, PV GAS continues to pursue supply diversification, expand its international partner network and develop the gas value chain, contributing to national energy security./.
