Recently, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) signed a contract to sell nearly 70 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to supplement gas sources for electricity production in 2024.

On May 22, 2023, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) signed a Confirmation Notice with supplier Shell, whereby Shell will deliver the first LNG cargo to Vietnam.

On May 11, 2022, in Washington DC, representatives of AES and PetroVietnam Gas JSC (PV Gas) were granted an Investment Registration Certificate for the Son My LNG terminal project.

On 22 September 2021, in New York, representatives of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) and Petrovietnam Gas JSC (PV Gas) today exchanged the signed joint venture agreement for the Son My LNG terminal, which will be located in Binh Thuan Province in South-Central Vietnam. The terminal will play an important role in accelerating Vietnam’s energy transition and economic growth.

At the afternoon of January 19, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) and Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) held a ceremony for signing a credit contract of 1,500 billion VND to sponsor “Phase 2 of the Adjusted Nam Con Son gas pipeline project”, in which Ky Dong Branch of Vietcombank as the Vietcombank representative clue provides a credit of 1,000 billion VND.

On November 16, 2020, at the incoming gas intake in Long Hai town, Long Dien district, Baria-Vung Tau province, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) held the welcoming ceremony to accept the first gas inflow from Sao Vang field in the Sao Vang - Dai Nguyet gas project to Nam Con Son 2 pipeline.

According to News Agency of Vietnam (VNA) in Tokyo, the Japanese Saibu Gas Company (Saibu Gas) has announced its decision to invest in a subsidiary of Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS).

At the morning of October 28, 2019, in Thi Vai port, Tan Phuoc Commune, Phu My Town, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) started to construct Thi Vai LNG Storage Project (phase 1) with a capacity of 1 million tons LNG per year.

On August 15, 2019 in Hanoi, PetroVietnam General Director Le Manh Hung had a working meeting with Mr. Bernerd Da Santos, Standing Vice Chairman cum General Director of AES Group (United States). At the meeting, AES leaders proposed to invest in Son My gas project chain.

At the meeting with PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS), Mr. Philippe Sauquet – the Member of the Administrative Council, General Director of the Electricity, Gas and Renewable Energy Division of Total SA Group expressed a wish to cooperate with PV GAS to develop the projects in Vietnam in future, especially LNG ones.
