TKV and EVN sign long-term agreement on imported Bituminous and Sub-bituminous coal supply for power plants

This event marks an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two groups, demonstrating their strong political will and close coordination to ensure national energy security in the coming years.

Ensuring a Stable Fuel Supply for Power Generation
In the context of growing electricity demand, ensuring a stable and sustainable fuel supply for thermal power plants remains a top priority.
During the session, both parties reviewed and finalized key contents of the agreement, including commitments on the volume, quality, and delivery schedule of imported coal. The agreement provides a foundation for TKV to proactively plan its import activities, invest in blending and supply infrastructure, and ensure long-term efficiency and stability in coal provision.
Mr. Dang Hoang An, Chairman of EVN’s Members’ Council, emphasized: “The goal of this agreement is to optimize coal utilization and minimize factors that affect the technical and economic performance of power plant operations. EVN is committed to closely coordinating with TKV in production, import, and supply management to enhance the efficiency and resilience of the coal supply chain.”
TKV Commits to a Stable, Legal, and Competitive Coal Supply
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan, Chairman of TKV’s Members’ Council, affirmed: “The signing of this long-term cooperation agreement on imported bituminous and sub-bituminous coal is not only an economic mission but also a political responsibility of TKV in ensuring the nation’s energy security.”
TKV is committed to working closely with EVN to ensure sufficient coal supply in terms of quantity, quality, and specifications for EVN’s power generation units, including EVN and the Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1). The group also guarantees the legal origin, competitiveness, and price transparency of the supplied coal in accordance with regulations.
Chairman Ngo Hoang Ngan further stressed that TKV will continue to enhance domestic coal production while maintaining a balanced import strategy, aiming for a diverse and sustainable supply to support EVN’s thermal power plants under all operating conditions.
Expanding Cooperation Toward a Sustainable Energy Value Chain
Beyond coal supply, TKV and EVN agreed to expand their cooperation in other areas to optimize the energy value chain, thereby fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Party and the Government, and contributing to the stable and sustainable development of Vietnam’s economy.
At the ceremony, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of TKV; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of EVN; and Mr. Le Hai Dang, General Director of EVNGENCO1, represented the parties in signing the long-term cooperation agreement on the supply of imported bituminous and sub-bituminous coal for EVN’s and EVNGENCO1’s thermal power plants./.
