In July 2023, the electricity generation of the whole system increased by 7.1% in comparison with the same period in 2022

The mobilization rates of several types of power plants to the total system electricity generation were as follows: Hydropower was 36.80 billion kWh, accounting for 22.9%;

coal-fired power plants - 79.95 billion kWh, accounting for 49.8%; gas turbines - 18.01 billion kWh, accounting for 11.2%; oil thermal power - 1.23 billion kWh, accounting for 0.8%; renewable energy - 22.11 billion kWh, accounting for 13.8% (in which solar power projects reached 15.48 billion kWh, wind power projects reached 6.06 billion kWh); Imported electricity - 2.22 billion kWh, accounting for 1.4%.

In the first 7 months of 2023, the electricity generation produced by EVN and its power generation corporations (including joint stock companies) reached 67.55 billion kWh, accounting for 42.07% of the electricity generation of the whole system.

Regarding construction investment, in the first 7 months of 2023, EVN and its units have started 36 projects and completed energizing and putting into operation 49 power grid projects from 110 kV to 500 kV.

In implementing procedures for transitional renewable energy projects: up to August 1, 2023, 74/85 transitional renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3,999.86 MW have been sent to EVN power electricity trading company (in which 62 projects with a total capacity of 3,399.41 MW) with a proposal to temporary prices equal to 50% of the ceiling prices of the price framework (according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade).

EVN and the investor have completed price negotiations and initially signed PPA with 59/62 projects.

There were 58 transitional renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3,181.41 MW approved by MOIT with temporary prices and 17 plants/parts of the plants with a total capacity of 859.52 MW have completed COD procedures and were commercially generated on the grid. In which, 21 projects/parts of the plants have been accepted by competent state management agencies/parts of works; 30 projects have been granted electricity operation licenses and 38 projects have had decisions to extend investment policies. Currently, there are still 11 projects with a total capacity of 734.70MW that have not been submitted for negotiation.

The cumulative electricity generation of the transitional renewable energy projects from the time of COD to July 21, 2023, with about 211.7 million kWh, in which, the average daily electricity generation was about 3.2 million kWh, accounting for about 0.4% of the total mobilized electricity generation.
