Vinacomin focuses on coal production to meet the maximum demand for electricity generation

Signing a memorandum of cooperation to ensure the supply of coal for electricity production to serve the country's socio-economic development.

The Vinacomin has just organized the preliminary conference for summing up the plan of the first quarter and deploying the plan for the second quarter of 2022.

In the first quarter, Vinacomin promoted maximum coal exploitation for supplying electricity generation to ensure the National sustainable energy, curb inflation and partially compensate for the shortage of imported coal due to high prices.

The turnover of Vinacomin in quarter 1/2022 expected 32,873 billion VND equal to 25% year plan and 124.1% in comparison with the turnover of the same time in the last year, among which, coal turnover reached 19,419 billion VND, equal to 25.9 % year plan, 120.8% in the same period in last year. The benefit expects 600 billion VND, equal to a 17-year plan; the State budget payment of 4.1 thousand billion VND, equal to 23% year plan and equivalent to the same period in 2021. The average salary of the labor was 13.47 million VND/person/month.

In the quarter 1/2022, Vinacomin exploited 10.58 million tons of crude coal, equal to 27.1% year plan, 106% compared the same period of 2021; sold 11.07 million ton equal to 25.7% year plan and 112.4% compared the same period of 2021

The production of the other products also ensured the plans as equivalent Alumina reached 375.516 ton, equal to 29% year plan and 106% of the same period of 2021; Electricity generation was 2.5 billion kWh, equal to 26% year plan and 100% of the same period of 2021; chemicals and industrial explosive material reached 18.816 ton, equal to 25% year plan…

In Covid-19 pandemic prevention, 89.521 persons (94.5%) of Vinacomin have vaccinated 3 doses. The environmental protection was still paid attention with 176.038 trees newly planting, equal to 17.6% year plan with an area of 47 ha, as 22.4% year plan (210 ha)

In the second quarter of 2022, Vinacomin will continue to promote the production rate by increasing 1.5 million tons of crude coal over the plan and strive to sell coal on the maximum scale. The group should exploit 11.4 million tons of crude coal, sell over 11 million tons, electricity generation of 2.85 billion kWh; Alumina will reach 363,000 tons; Fine Copper ore -25,800 tons and Cooper planks – 8,000 tons; Electricity generation – 5.3 billion kWh.

Speaking with the direction opinions, the Chairman of Vinacomin Member Council, Mr. Le Minh Chuan proposed: In the second quarter of 2022, the units should promote the labor emulation movement "High working day - High output - High income" launched by the Vinacomin General Director and Trade Union, the units should focus on production to increase output, meet maximum coal for electricity generation and ensure the labor and environmental safety

It is necessary to regularly monitor and update the development of coal prices in the domestic and international markets to manage coal imports as planned. "In order to ensure the supply of coal for the Power industry, in the coming time, special attention should be paid to the balance and allocation of coal supply to suitable thermal power plants, avoiding the situation of excess and shortage" Vinacomin Chairman Le Minh Chuan emphasized.

In order to complete the production and business plan in the second quarter of 2022, the Vinacomin General Director Mr. Dang Thanh Hai requested the units should highly focus on production, promote the emulation movement to maximally increase coal output, strive to complete the business plan for the first 6 months of the year at the highest level.

For increasing coal production at highest level to meet market demand, Vinacomin General Director calls for all employees to work without rest in Hung King's death anniversary Day (10/3 by Vietnamese calendar), Victory Day (30/4), and International Labor Day (1/5).

For the coal with high quality, due to the high prices of coal in global markets and international shipping fees leading to high competition for Vinacomin coal with high quality, it is proposed Vinacomin units to focus on producing lamp and dust coal with high quality for export and domestic markets.
