Vinacomin booting coal production and consumption in the last six month of 2014

 - On July 24, 2014, in Quang Ninh province, Vinacomin held a conference on deploying the tasks of coal production and consumption in the last 6 month of 2014. Mr Le Minh Chuan - Chairman of Vinacomin Members Coucil cum President of the Vinacomin Group chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2014, the output of raw coal production was 19.66 million tons, including of 9,75 million tons of pit mining and 9,7 million tons of opencast mining; accouting for 52% plan year. Several member units has achivied highly results, such as: Nui Beo coal 86%, Coc Sau coal 62%, Deo Nai coal 60%... 

Consumption in the first six month reached 18,6 million tons, approximately 54% of the plan year, by 101% over the same period; of which coal exports reached 3,9 million tons and domestic consumption reached 14,7 million tons, accouting 55% of plan year; up 18% over the same period. Particularly coal for electricity reached 9 million tons, an increase of 25% over the same period of 2013. Coal inventories by the end of June  was 7,6 million tons, decreased 1 million ton at the begining of the year 2014.

Total  revenue of the Group reached 52 957 billion, accounting for 50% of the yearly plan and up 11% compared to the same period in which revenue from coal accounts for about 60%. 

Performing the Prime Minister's directions on boosting industrial production in the last 6 months 2014, Mr Le Minh Chuan - Chairman of Vinacomin Members Coucil cum President of the Vinacomin Group asked member units to focus on booting coal production and consumption; triving to complete the year's target exceedly. It is expected that coal production in 2014 will increase by 1 million tons, coal consumption also up to 500.000 tons, reaching 35,5 million tons. Of which, coal exports reach 7,5 million tons and domestic consumption reach 28 million tons.

In addition, Mr Le Minh Chuan also directs member units focus on accelerating the key projects of the Group; strengthening production cost; ensuring efficient production business.
