Vinacomin anticipates two scenarios for producing and selling products, suitable with the market development

In his speech, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai informed that, in the first 5 months of 2021, the coal sale market decreased, only coal for thermal power decreased by 2.4 million tons compared to the same period of the last year due to EVN mobilizing electricity from the solar and wind power projects.

On the other hand, the high prices of the input raw materials and fuels as steel and gasoline, along with the impact of the 3th outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, faulted the supply chain and affected efficiency of the Group's production and business.

In the first 5 months, the targets of turnover, profits and budget payment in the first 5 months of the Group have not met the plans. However, the Group was one of the few state-owned enterprises to keep the rate of production and guarantee livelihood and jobs for employees.

As a result of the first 5 months, the Group reached a turnover of 50.4 trillion VND, produced 16.9 tons of crude coal, sold 18.15 million tons of clean coal, paid 7.8 thousand VND to the state budget payment and average salary was 13 million VND/month.

 The two scenarios anticipated by Vinacomin are as follow:

1. Coal production of 36.4 million tons, coal sale of 42 million tons, electricity generation of 10 TWh, of which in Quang Ninh province 6.55 TWh, turnover of 123.8 billion VND, benefit of 3000 billion VND.

2. Coal production of 37.562 million tons, coal sale of 40 million tons, electricity generation of 10 TWh, of which in Quang Ninh province 6.5 TWh, benefit of 2000 billion VND (reduce of 1000 million compared to the plan).

At the conference, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Vinacomin Member Council, Le Minh Chuan clarified a number of contents related to the proposals and recommendations of the Group in managing, licensing the projects on coal exploration, exploitation in accordance with the planning project; roadmap of open exploitation in a number of areas of Ha Long city; building and serious implementing the roadmap of finishing open coal exploitation in Hon Gai area in accordance with 403 Planning Project of Prime Minister; managing coal transportation, coal import, coal mix at the wharfs, harbors in the provincial territory; managing land, environment, coal export and construction of the houses for coal workers according to announcement No 197 of Government Office.

Several locations of coal mining according to planning; route of open-pit mining in some areas in Ha Long city; the construction and strict implementation of the roadmap for ending open-pit coal mining projects in Hon Gai area according to the Prime Minister's Master Plan 403; manage coal transportation and import and mix coal at ports and wharves according to planning in the province; land management, environment, coal export; construction of houses for coal industry workers according to Notice No. 197 of the Government Office...

Concluding remarks, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Ky emphasized that in the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic from 2021 beginning, especially in the third wave of pandemic, Quang Ninh is one of the most heavily affected localities, but tens of thousands of coal industry workers are always united, try their best to fight against pandemic and work hard to maintain the production rate with the spirit of "producing coal as fighting the enemy" and together with Quang Ninh provincial people to prevent pandemic and successfully implement the "dual goal “ as pandemic  prevention and economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky also suggested the coal industry to continue to be an exemplary economic sector in production and business activities.In complicated development ò the Covid-19, it is necessary to always heighten the goal of "Safety for production, production must be safe from disease", to protect the health of workers. Vinacomin and Northeast   Corporation should arrange and dedicate resources to vaccinate workers and their families with the support of the organization and guidance of the provincial authority from the previous experience.

In addition, the coal industry should actively protect the environment, natural resources, efficiently and safely manage and use of resources, efficiently deploy the circular economic model to make use of sieved residues, waste stone with coal, soil and rock from dumping ground for construction materials… At the same time, Coal industry should continue to take more care of Party building and reorganization at Party grassroots organizations, perfect working and coordinating regulations to ensure synchronization to handle issues.

In the spirit of "Not to talk about difficulties with what the coal industry has raised, but to join in to solve it", the Secretary of  Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee assigned the civil affairs committee of Provincial People's Committee to direct the relevant provincial departments, branches and localities to drastically solve the issues under the provincial authority, to find every measure to untie the difficulties of coal sector, especially to resolve administration procedures to create all conditions for the stable development of the coal industry.

The issues beyond the competence, the provincial authority in cooperation with coal industry should propose the Ministries and Government to solve.
