On October 16, at Northwest Solid Waste Treatment Complex (Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City), Tam Sinh Nghia Investment and Development Joint Stock Company started construction of Tam Sinh Nghia Waste-to-Energy Project with a capacity of 40 MW. The project valued for 5000 billion VND will process 2,000 tons of waste per day.

On November 22, 2018, at the Northwest Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in coordination with Tasco Joint Stock Company Solid started construction of the Tasco - Cu Chi Waste - to -Energy project.

The Vietnamese government has projected that the steel and metal working industries has been growing at a rate of 17 per cent in 2015 compared to the previous year. This growth is expected to continue with government policies aimed at supporting economic development.
