The period 2020 - 2030 will mark an important step in strong increasing the clean energy sources as renewable energy, LNG power in total power resource structure of Vietnam. This trend will continue after 2030. At the same time, the role of the private sector in the electricity/energy market will become important and significantly increase in coming future.

The Government has just issued Decree No. 114/2021/ND-CP, dated December 16, 2021, on managing and using the official development assistance (ODA) capital and concessional loans of the foreign donors (replacing Decree 56). Government Decree 114 is an important legal basis for approving investment in O Mon 3 Thermal Power Plant, the key to solve congestion of the Block B - O Mon gas power project chain for soon starting this important gas power source.

According to the plan, on May 7, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "International Forum on Finance and Technology for Clean Energy Projects in Vietnam (first time)" and Voting "The TOP prestigious electrical equipment brands in Vietnam in 2020". Faced with the situation of "force majeure" due to the pandemic, the experts and managers discussed and contributed opinions, the Science Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine decided to make a report and recommendations on a number of mechanisms and policies for the sustainable development of clean energy in Vietnam to the Prime Minister, the Head of the Central Economic Commission, the Minister of Industry and Trade as well as related ministries and industries.

On July 12, in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), had a working with Mr. Stephan Opitz - General Director in charge of Europe - Asia regions of the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW). At the meeting, the two sides exchanged difficulties in arranging capital for the projects.

Hanoi, October 12, 2016, with the present of Representative of Australian Embassy in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Viet Ngai, Chairman of Vietnam Energy Association and Mr. Tony Cade, Chairman of Australian Hunter-net Business Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation.
