The Office of Hai Phong City People’s Committee (CPC) informed: Mr. Nguyen Van Tung – Chairman of Hai Phong CPC has just had a working meeting with Storm Capital Partners, a Company from United Kingdom (UK) and Viet Phat Real Estate Development JSC on investment in a floating LNG fired power plant with a capacity of 450 – 600 MW and a total investment capital of US$ 582 million on Hai Phong sea.  

Siemens will provide the equipment to upgrade the Hiep Phuoc 1 steam power plant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to a combined cycle power plant. This project will increase the plant’s electrical capacity by roughly 780 megawatts (MW) to approximately 1,200 MW.

In the case that the thermal power projects in southern region continue to delay, it is possible to consider hiring the floating power stations with a capacity range from 30 to 620 MW, power purchase agreement from 3 to 10 years for ensuring power supply to the South.

Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) just had a meeting with the representatives of Karpowership Group (Republic of Turkey) to discuss cooperation opportunities between the two sides, in which there was a solution to generate electricity from floating power plants (when the Vietnamese power system will lack local supply).

To be built in the Sakra sector of Jurong Island, the Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant will be the firrst hydrogen-ready power plant ing Singapore.

In My An and My Thang communes, Phu My district, Binh Dinh province, Clean Energy Vision Development Joint Stock Company - a member company of Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) held a ceremony for starting Phu My Solar Power Project, with a capacity of 330 MW.
