The Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the US Embassy in Vietnam held a seminar in late May to discuss opportunities in Vietnam’s power transmission development.

The Prime Minister has just approved a list of the stage 3 power transmission grid projects, invested by loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the German Reconstruction Credit Institute (KFW).

On December 5, Vietnam Citibank successfully arranged an US$ 245 million long-term (13 years)  export credit for National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). The credit is guaranteed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance and insured by the Japanese Export Credit and Investment  Insurance Agency (NEXI). This is a second credit  insured by NEXI for EVN NPT in Vietnam.

On August 8th, 2014, in Hanoi,  the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) held a Ceremony for publishing the Decision on the  appointment of Mr. Vu Ngoc Minh to the post of the Member of Member Council and General Director of EVNNPT replacing Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung who retires by regulations.

On November 3, 2021, the Government Office issued announcement No 296/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the meeting of the Government Permanent Council on land rent collection from the power transmission lines.

On June 22, chairing the Government's Standing Committee on the mechanisms for power plant and grid development, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that all economic backgrounds can participate in power generation and transmission electricity.

The National Power Transmission Corporation of Electricity of Vietnam (EVNNPT) and Belgium Elia Grid International (EGI) coordinated to hold a workshop for EGI to present the kick-off report under project “Evaluating the current situation of the National Power Transmission System and proposing solutions to overcome the shortcomings”.

On November 12th, in Ha Noi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and World Bank (WB) had signed a credit loan agreement of  $500 millions for “Transmission Efficiency Project” of National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).

The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVN NPT) has just held a starting ceremony for an unconstrained loan of US$170 million from Nippon Export Investment Insurance (NEXI) for Vinh Tan Power Center – Song May turn – Tan Uyen transmission line investment. It is the result of over a year of active preparation for lending procedures between the sides.

As well known, the Kien Binh - Phu Quoc 220kV transmission line a longest sea-crossing line in Southeast Asia was technically energized in mid-October 2022. Currently, the project is completing the procedures to hand over to Power Transmission Company 4 under the National Power Transmission Corporation (NPTC) for managing and operating.

On March 31, 2022, in Hanoi, Power Project Management Board 2 held a ceremony for signing contracts for 2 packages of power transmission project from Laos to Vietnam.

Recently, the World Bank's independent evaluation team (IEG team) of the World Bank (WB) worked with the Ministries, Agencies, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and the units for accessing the efficiency of Transmission power grid (TEP) funding by WB loan capital.

On February 22, in Yen Bai province, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Project Management Board of Central Power Projects (CPMB) deployed to construct the two urgent transmission projects in the Northwest Region including Huoi Quang - Nghia Lo 220 kV transmission line; Nghia Lo 220 kV transformer substation and 220 kV transformation line from Nghia Lo to 500 kV Viet Tri transformer substation.

At a handover meeting, the US Tangible International Cooperation Company (TICC) handed the EVNNPT the last version of the Technical Assistance project named "Information Technology Roadmap for EVNNPT" a project financed by grant fund from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).

On September 4, in Xeo Nhau village, Tan Thanh commune, An Minh District, Kien Giang Province the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) held a  groundbreaking ceremony on construction of a longest in Vietnam sea crossing  110 kV overhead power transmission line. The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, leaders of ministries, agencies, localities and investor attended the ceremony.
