MOIT starts to inspect solar power development according to the Prime Minister’s Direction

As well known, by the end of 2020, in Vietnam, there were put into operation power generation projects with a total installed capacity of 69,300 MW, of which the renewable energy capacity was 21,000 MW including 3,600 MW small hydro, 300 MW biomass power, more than 600 MW wind power, 16,500 MW solar power (7,900 MW ground projects and 8,600 MW rooftop ones) accounted for 30.6% of the total capacity of the whole national system, in particular, the solar power (ground and rooftop projects) reached 23.9%.

Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has officially issued the Circular No16/2017/TT-BCT on grid connected and rooftop solar power development in which regulates the National Solar Power Development Planning (NSPDP) to be made once only. The following updates, additions and corrections for NSPDP are made when adjusting the National Power Development Planning (NPDP). Making, approving and announcing the NSPP are stipulated in the Prime Minister Decision No11/2017/QĐ-TTg on the mechanisms to stimulate developing solar power projects in Vietnam.
