Over the past five years of implementation of the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign, the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) has boosted production of competitive quality products along with enhanced use of domestic products comparable to imported alternatives in terms of quality and price.

On March 18th, in the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Meeting held in Da Lat city (Lam Dong province), the Representative of the Russian National Atomic Energy Cooporation (Rosatom) awarded the Medals for Nuclear Technology to 6 leading scientists in the field of atomic energy, nuclear research in Vietnam.

The remaining coal resources of Vietnam are forecasted to be quite large, but not large explorative reserves, especially since the mining conditions are increasingly difficult, increasing the costs, which makes it difficult to compete with imported coal sources. As there is no State clear mechanism and policy for coal import, that leads to difficulties for enterprises to deploy coal import, as well as invest in coal mining abroad.

On September 20, 2021, Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC 1) signed a design consultant service contract with the consortium of Song Da Corporation – Tanahu (Nepal) for package No1 of the Tanahu hydropower dam. The signing ceremony was conducted online.

On November 25th, 2016 Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam, Dung Quat Economic Zone, Binh Thuan Commune, Binh Son District, Quang Ngai, Vietnam:  Education is one of the three focuses of Doosan Vina’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. The company has supported education for the past nine years granting more than $282,000 in scholarships awards to 1,078 Vietnamese students.

On October 9th, 2015, Doosan Vina Human Resource Personnel have visited universities across Vietnam again this October to award 105 scholarships and distribute grants to universities for needed teaching equipment.  This year’s total was 5.1B VND.

The Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the US Embassy in Vietnam held a seminar in late May to discuss opportunities in Vietnam’s power transmission development.

Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, signed a new sales contract of 50MW with Solar Electric Vietnam Joint Stock Company (SEV). The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is planning to have all equipment on transmission lines and 80 percent of 110 kV circuit facilities digitalised from now to 2022.

The Prime Minister has just adjusted the content of the Decision No. 1576 / QD-TTg dated 11/09/2015 of the Prime Minister on approving the list of the project "Investment transmission grid 3".

On December 5, Vietnam Citibank successfully arranged an US$ 245 million long-term (13 years)  export credit for National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). The credit is guaranteed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance and insured by the Japanese Export Credit and Investment  Insurance Agency (NEXI). This is a second credit  insured by NEXI for EVN NPT in Vietnam.

On August 8th, 2014, in Hanoi,  the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) held a Ceremony for publishing the Decision on the  appointment of Mr. Vu Ngoc Minh to the post of the Member of Member Council and General Director of EVNNPT replacing Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung who retires by regulations.

In Hanoi, Deputy General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Vo Quang Lam just had a meeting with the Asia-Pacific Regional Director of Electricity of France (EDF) International Networks, Mr. Lionel Besombes about the possibilities of cooperation in the electricity transmission and distribution. The meeting was connected online to the EDF representative point in the French Republic.

On November 3, 2021, the Government Office issued announcement No 296/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the meeting of the Government Permanent Council on land rent collection from the power transmission lines.
