At the online hand over to the next shift conference on coal production management in September, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai, General Director of Vinacomin required its member units to concentrate at highest level on  coal production and business, strive for achievement of over 8.5% year plan with a 3 million ton crude coal production and a 3 million ton commercial coal sale.

The Department of Petroleum and Coal - Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) inspected a number of coal-producing and selling units and worked with the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) on coal production, supply for the coal-fired thermal power plants (TPPs).

At Mao Khe Coal Company, General Director of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) Dang Thanh Hai chaired the Conference on promoting coal production to meet the market demand.

Government office has informed the conclusion opinions of the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Hoang Trung Hai on situation of implementing the adjusting project on Vietnam coal industry development planning to 2020 with outlook up to 2030.

According to Vinacomin reports, in April 2015, the volume of rock removed estimated to increase by 32.1 % to year on year; tunneling estimated to increase 7.14% over the same period.

On July 24, 2014, in Quang Ninh province, Vinacomin held a conference on deploying the tasks of coal production and consumption in the last 6 month of 2014. Mr Le Minh Chuan - Chairman of Vinacomin Members Coucil cum President of the Vinacomin Group chaired the conference.

On the morning of September 8, at Deo Nai Coal Joint Stock Company, General Director of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) Dang Thanh Hai chaired a meeting with the Vinacomin opencast coal mining units.

On October 03, 2017, concluding at the online executive production briefing in October, the General director of Vinacomin Dang Thanh Hai asked the units to concentrate on producing high quality coal for export in order to compensate for the decrease in production due to low demand for electricity generation recent time.

On May 30, 2017, in Hanoi, Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) and JOGMEC (Japan) signed the cooperation agreements for a training program to improve capacity in coal production and safety techniques. The agreements will be specified in several subsidiaries of Vinacomin.

Vinacomin is increasing production to ensure sufficient domestic coal supply and reduce the risks of an energy shortage.

In the second quarter of 2022, the units of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) promote a labor emulation movement "High working day - High output - High income", focus on coal production to meet maximum demand for electricity generation.

In the second quarter, the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) plans to balance production and sale of coal amount in the regions to reduce inventory level, strive to maximally produce minerals, chemicals, electricity ... for stabilizing jobs and meeting coal demand of the customers.

The Leadership of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) has directed to maintain coal inventory level at 10 % of the total mining generation in order to supply coal amount for domestic power thermal plants with a certain reserve margin to contribute in guaranteeing the national energy security.

Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) informs that the clean coal production approximately reached 14 million tons in the 4 months of the year, accounting a 2.9% improvement on last year period production. However, the production in April was only 3.6 million tons, down 4.2% compared to the same period of the year.

On May 9, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan, General Director and Mission of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and worked with Vinacomin leaders in Hanoi and Coal Northeast Corporation (CNC) in Quang Ninh, on coal supply for power generation, especially in the peak hot months of 2023.
