On June 21, 2017, in Hanoi, the European Union (EU) Delegation to Vietnam and Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) held the present ceremony of Vietnam Energy Partner Group (VEPG) with the participation of more than hundred of representatives from Vietnam government agencies and organizations of development partners, finance, private sector and NGO. This is an opportunity for development partners and MOIT to exchange viewpoints on development of energy sector in Vietnam.

On March 21, at a meeting between leaders of the Ministries of Planning and Investment and the ministries, agencies and enterprises of Vietnam and Laos taking place in Vientiane (Laos), T&T and Phongsubthavy Groups handed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the renewable energy (RE) development. According to MOU, T&T and Phongsubthavy Groups will cooperate in developing RE projects in Laos with a total capacity of about 2,500 MW to sell electricity to Vietnam.

Recently, in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province, the first session of the Technical Working Group on Energy Market within the framework of phase 2 of the Vietnam Energy Partnership Group (VEPG).

According to a survey of World Bank (WB) in 111 nations, Vietnam belongs to the group of leading countries in clean energy.

On December 14, in Hanoi, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An worked with Deputy General Director of China Hoa Dien Group (CHD) Cau Wi and the working group.

SP Group (SP) and BCG Energy Joint Stock Company (BCG Energy), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bamboo Capital JSC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to invest in renewable energy projects in Vietnam. The MOU also provides an exclusive right for SP to acquire up to 49 per cent of its subsidiary Skylar Joint Stock Company (Skylar).  

On the occasion of attending the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), in Shanghai City, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Mr. Dao Long Trung - Founder and chairman of New Energy Group Jiangsu (China).

On September 9, 2019, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue received Mr. Scott Kicker, CEO of Gen X Energy Company (United States). At the meeting, Mr. Scott Kicker proposed to the Government of Vietnam, the wishe of Gen X Energy to invest in LNG complex project including LNG storage, gas transportation system and gas power project.

According to News Agency of Vietnam (VNA) in Tokyo, the Japanese Saibu Gas Company (Saibu Gas) has announced its decision to invest in a subsidiary of Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS).

On the occasion of the visit to Vietnam of the UK Prime Minister David Cameron (July 29-30, 2015), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and its UK. partner signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation.

The Bechtel Group (USA) has just proposed to transfer technologies on green hydrogen and capture carbon from fossil energy sources and promote inter-regional cooperation in energy transition and renewable energy transmission to Vietnam.

Levanta Renewables (“Levanta”), a leading Vietnam and Southeast Asia-focused renewables platform, has secured a majority investment from Actis, a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure.

At the meeting with PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS), Mr. Philippe Sauquet – the Member of the Administrative Council, General Director of the Electricity, Gas and Renewable Energy Division of Total SA Group expressed a wish to cooperate with PV GAS to develop the projects in Vietnam in future, especially LNG ones.

Within the framework of the 26th Conference of the participates in the Framework Convention of United Nations on Climate Change (COP26) taking place in the United Kingdom, under the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (RE) and BCG Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Siemens Gamesa RE providing BCG Energy with equipment and technical solutions for wind power development in Vietnam.
