T&T Group and Laos Partner cooperate investment in RE, transmit it to Vietnam

In accordance with the agreement, T&T Group will be a focal point to connect the competitive and preferential funds for the RE projects through all the financial necessary sources (as export credit agencies, multilateral agencies and commercial Bank…).

Speaking at the ceremony for signing MOU, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy General Director of T&T Group said: In order to concretize T&T goal by 2030 to develop the power projects with a total capacity of about 12,000 - 15,000 MW, T&T Group decided to cooperate with Phongsubthavy to invest in energy projects in Laos, aiming to sell electricity to Vietnam.

Ms. Binh emphasized that traveling with a major partner in Laos should help us to quickly grasp the processes, regulations of the laws and energy policy of Laos and create

the more convenient opportunities in selecting feasible and efficient projects for quickly implementing the overseas investment plan in the energy field of T&T Group, and at the same time, realizing the investment cooperation relationship between Vietnam - Laos Governments of in the energy field, thereby further consolidating the friendly relationship between the two countries.

Laos is considered a country with an abundant RE potential, where can be developed large hydrological, wind and solar power projects for satisfying domestic demand and exporting to the neighboring countries including Vietnam.

10 years ago, T&T group researched the conditions for RE development to take advantage of the opportunities. At present, besides the large wind, solar power projects having been completed and are about completed, T&T Group planned a strategy for developing RE, gas projects and LNG centers to 2030 and 2045, suitable with the national energy strategy and planning.
