According to the decision, the project will have an installed capacity of 40 MW and is expected to generate approximately 63.03 million kWh of electricity annually. The plant will be connected to the national grid at 110 kV via a newly built double-circuit 110 kV transmission line linked to the 110 kV bay of the Krong Pa 220 kV Substation.
The project will cover approximately 46.05 hectares, including 40.05 hectares of irrigation reservoir surface and 6 hectares of land. Total investment is estimated at VND 1.007 trillion, comprising VND 1 trillion for project implementation and VND 7 billion for compensation, resettlement, and site clearance. The project is expected to operate for 50 years.
Under the implementation schedule, investment approval procedures and investor selection will be completed between June and August 2026. From August 2026 to January 2027, the investor will carry out sector-specific approval procedures, prepare and obtain approval for the feasibility study, finalize the investment decision, negotiate and sign the power purchase agreement (PPA), complete the technical and detailed engineering designs, and undertake land acquisition, compensation, site clearance, land allocation, and land leasing procedures.
Construction is scheduled to commence in February 2027, with commercial operation targeted for February 2028.
Once operational, the Ea Dreh Floating Solar Power Plant will supply approximately 63.03 million kWh of clean electricity annually to the national power system. The project is expected to optimize the use of irrigation reservoir water surfaces, increase local budget revenues, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Gia Lai Province. It will also support Vietnam's renewable energy development objectives and the energy transition targets outlined in the revised National Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII)./.
